    • Really poor service and lack of options.

      It's an older and tired property but the service really let's it down.I recently stayed for two nights and the total cost was around AED 5500. I wasn't informed at any point that there was construction going on at the hotel. There is only one outlet open for lunch and it resembled a building site with painting, drilling and lots of noise going on whilst we were trying to eat. I asked if they could stop but was told no. I asked if there was anywhere else to eat and was told to try another hotel! I also raised the issue at reception but nothing was done. I then raised a complaint via the Hilton App and nothing was done during my stay. I followed up several times afterwards (via Hilton corporate)and have been offered 5000 points (which might be enough to get a coffee). I have rejected the offer and still no one from the hotel has contacted me to actually apologise. There are many other better hotels on the Palm such as properties run by IHG, Marriott or more professional chains. I'd suggest you try somewhere that actually acts like a hotel.

      Like a lot of the recent reviews, I absolutely hated my stay. Service was really poor for the Waldorf brand. Unlike all other 5-star hotels in Dubai, there was still open buffet here and guests were picking pastries with their bare hands. Yuck.. Stayed at W Dubai Palm immediately after this and the difference was MASSIVE! Take your money there instead.

      We were a bit hesitant to book here after reading the most recent comments but im so glad we decided to give it a try. Our stay was amazing!! Rooms were huge, the bathroom was stunning, the resort is clean and there were plenty of sun loungers available . And we couldn't understand why all the negative comments regarding the breakfast. The area was spacious, there was an amazing variety of food for everyone and it wasnt crowded at all. We loved our stay so much we tried to extend but unfortunately they were overbooked:(

      We had an extremely enjoyable stay. We particularly thought that all the staff were very friendly and kind. A special mention to victor and his colleague from the Philippines who worked on the beach. They were so friendly and were always there to offer drinks, food and water - even when you didnt ask!

    • The Worst Check In Experience of my Life

      A hotel brand is made of its facilities (room comfort, pool, etc) and its services. For the facilities this is a great hotel, although it is situated too far in the Palm Jumeirah to get to other places in Dubai (4km from the Atlantis, for example), which makes it mandatory either to have a rental car or get used to overpriced luxury limousines to go to other places. But a hotel brand can be ruined by a poor check in experience, and this is what happened to my family. My check in experience was a disaster. As a Hilton Honors' member, I made my reservation more that 3 months in advance, for a Junior Suite for 4 people (one couple with 2 teenagers). I arrived at the hotel with my family at 3PM, after a 5 hour flight. I was informed that my Junior Suite was not ready and was recommended to wait in the pool bar. My initial plans for that day were to check in the room and go to the city for a tour. But 2 hours later, at 5PM, the room was still not ready. Lots of empty excuses (standard check out was at noon and check in at 3PM-3 hours are more that enough to clean and disinfect a room). When we finally got it, around 5:30PM, we found out that there were no beds for our children, which was answered by the staff as "sorry, we will check what we can do, but we are out of roll-in beds-we may give you just one bed today". Completely unacceptable. This forced us to go back to the counter and request to see the manager, Mark, who was very accommodating and said he would solve our problem. And he did , 20 minutes later we had the 2 beds in our suite. This disastrous check in experience prevented us from enjoying our afternoon in the city, which is a big thing if you are visiting it for 3 days only. Not what I would expect from a so called 5 star experience. One additional frustration was the lack of preparation of the hotel staff to give directions to obtain PCR tests done. We needed them for our flight back home 3 days later (as 90% of guests these days), and the hotel said they had 2 names of doctors for that but "sorry, they are fully booked". Knowing that this was mandatory for us to board our flight to go back home, the answer "sorry" just does not cut it. The hotel said that someone would call us to provide information of what to do, which never happened. We had to go after the info ourselves and got the tests done at the American Hospital, which was the recommended place from Emirates Airlines. As a comparison, the hotel where we stayed in the week before in another city arranged PCR tests to be collected in the hotel. The Personal Concierge is also something that seems not to work there. I contacted them 2 weeks in advance to ask for information about desert tours, and never got an answer. I would expect prompt replies for something that is intended to customize our experience in the hotel. In my family's opinion, the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah provides great facilities, room comfort and breakfast experience, but there is a lot of service issues to be fixed to call this a 5 star hotel.
