When we arrived at Dubrovnik airport we made our way as per v good instructions to the Villa Bingo transfer hut. You have to walk straight across the car Park it's v easy to find. We were greeted by the son of the villa owner very friendly and off straight away to the Villa. It's only an 8 minute drive which is fab although as not mentioned in all other reviews it means you are on the flight path. When we arrived at 10.30am we were met by the friendly owner and immediately shown to our studio, no waiting for check in. She gave us a small homemade liqueur to welcome us and a glass of iced squash. She gave us good intel on the local area (there is a shop 10 mins walk but up a steep hill) and pool towels which was v handy. The room Twin room with comfy beds and good pillows. Wardrobe with hangers, kitchenette area with table and chairs. Lovely sea facing balcony with table and chairs which was sunny in the afternoon. Ask for a sea facing room. Little clothes dryer. Air con effective but noisy if you don't change the fan setting. There was a fridge, toaster, kettle, cutlery and plates plus plastic glasses for pool area, hairdryer in bathroom average but did it's job. There were shutters at the French doors so the room was dark enabling good quality sleep. Cute little pool deep enough for a proper swim. No shallow end for children. Lots of sunbeds but only 2 umbrellas. Lunch area with a big umbrella which we used one day for a picnic type lunch. There was a bbq grill and toilet area. Pool area sunny all day with some shade at the lunch table later on. You do notice the planes flying overhead but only during the day, there were no planes at night so didn't affect our sleep. We were somewhat daunted looking out of the window as Central Cavtat looked far away but the owner assured us it was 20 mins walk. Google maps said 24 but actually it's 12 mins to closest bar at the beach. Down hill on the way which is fine but uphill on the way back! We got taxis back which is 70 kuna from the taxi rank. Don't let the walk put you off as Cavtat is really lovely and the restaurants and bars are varied and pretty inexpensive. Boats regularly sail to Dubrovnik and the owner booked it for us at an extra 10% off, making it an awful lot cheaper than any taxi!! The owners were absolutely delightful! Always offering us glasses of homemade liqueurs and cake! They really couldn't do enough for you and made our stay extra pleasurable. They arranged our transport back to the airport and gave us a little present to thank us for staying! The shower had no wall mounting (We think ours had simply been broken off and just needed fixing) although it had great pressure and there was always lots of hot water.

    • Beautifully Equipped Accommodation With Lovely Views - But Be Aware Of The Hills!

Just back from a week in Cavtat with two friends, and can thoroughly recommend a stay at Villa Bingo, up the hill from the town in a quiet mainly residential area. We had an air-conditioned two bedroom apartment (no. 4) on the top floor, with a decent-sized balcony giving beautiful views down to Cavtat seafront and across the bay to the walls of Dubrovnik Old Town in the distance. The apartment was equipped with just about everything you could wish for from a holiday home. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen including a cooker with gas AND electric hobs, dishwasher, large fridge and my favourite! a huge sandwich toaster/grill. Bathroom was spotlessly clean, with a compact but efficient shower, washing machine and a copious supply of towels and toilet rolls. Internet was fast and reliable. Out in the landing was an ironing board and iron, even a first aid kit! The pool area was clean and welcoming, with ample sunbeds, several tables with chairs and a small but somewhat chilly pool. We spent many a morning round the pool, catching the rays, and were invariably the only people there. Special mention to our lovely hosts who could not have been any more friendly or accommodating. Everything was no problem. They arranged for us to be transferred to and from the airport at a very reasonable 15 euros each way (they also run a car rental company, Bingo Rent, at the airport). We arrived late in the evening and were greeted with cakes and a glass of wine. Halfway through the week, the lady owner brought us up a tray of delicious freshly made pancakes and a bottle of their tasty homemade red wine. And although the checkout time was listed as 10am, and our flight wasnt until 9pm, our hosts were happy to let us stay on in the apartment, free of charge, at late as we liked, which allowed us to enjoy our last day to the full. Lovely people! One final word about the hills, that some reviewers appear to have made light of for some reason. It should be stressed that there is some serious hill walking involved in coming back from the town. It may be flat apart from the last 200 metres, but that final uphill stretch is pretty taxing, and never got any easier as the week progressed. And the stretch from the accommodation up to the well-stocked Tommy supermarket is longer and steeper still. Seriously it must be a 30 degree gradient. Youd be well advised to do the breakfast bread run early in the morning, while the sun is still relatively low in the sky. But if youre willing to brave the hills, then you will be amply rewarded with a super stay in some super accommodation.

We stayed at Villa bingo for 7nights because when we arrived at our original booking Villa Lukas (see Villa Lukas review)we were told that our reservation had been cancelled and they were full. Luka offered to transfer us to his parents's home Villa bingo.when we got there his mother told us the rate would be 70 a night and needed to be paid in cash in advance.because we were desperate we agreed. we would not have picked it as our choice.the first problem is location.it is a30 minute walk from Villa bingo to the centre of cavtat and the Villa is up a steep hill.we are fit but found it hard going in the heat.we were more likely when we walked into cavtat to stay out and then get a taxi back.taxis seemed to range from 60-100kuna(8-12) each journey.there is a supermarket on the road above Villa bingo but again the hill is a killer. In the studio apartment were two single beds pushed together.each had a single sheet with a matching hole.the cover was the thickness of a towel .sheets were not changed for the full 7days.the towels were only changed after 3days.we had to empty the bins into a bin opposite the apartment. no cleaning was done. the balcony for the apartment was down a corridor ,never got the sun but did have a sea view. the owners had very little English and seemed mainly interested in selling their home made wine. transfer to the airport was 100 Kuna. I would find it hard to recommend Villa bingo because of it's location and the standard of the accommodation. PS only saving Grace was a very good pool and sun bed area.

I would not call this a hotel but rather an Airbnb. Owners live in the same building and guests have their rooms in a large building. Friendly owners although poor English skills. Grocery very close and with a car everything is approachable very soon, even the airport. My recommendations!
