    • Reserved tables !!

      Reviewed 18 August 2019

So we popped over here for what we thought would be a early lunch before it gets busy when we entered we were surprised at how quiet it was all the tables by the window with the fabulous view were all empty so I thought great we will be seated in the window oh no we were shown to a table at the back of the restaurant I say restaurant its really a cafe menus were slapped on the table I said could we not sit by the window the young man said no they are reserved the time was 11.20am. So we ordered our food and beverage food came promptly but my husbands was not what he had ordered it was soon rectified food as always was nice although a little on the pricy side we ate our lunch and observed people coming in and everybody asked could they sit by the window they were also declined the privileged seating!! We sat for over 40mins and those precious window seats remained empty apart from one table for two and that only got used just after 12noon now I for one find this reserving of seats in a garden centre cafe absolutely ridiculous theres many a garden centre with lovely views one particular one down the Clyde Valley where you turn up and if youre lucky you get a window seat if not at least you stood a chance. On previous visits Ive observed the patrons of these much desired window seats and they all seem to be cut from the same cloth they order a pot of tea and a cake and make it last for about 2 hours not once glancing at view because they are so busy talking Iam sure I am not the only patron of this cafe that deems reserving of these tables grossly unfair !!!! One day I will get a table with a beautiful view I live in hope but I fear I will be filling dead mans shoes !!

    • Great Haggis

      Reviewed 20 February 2019

We visited this great eating place for lunch with friends. I chose the Haggis, Neeps and Taties. The chef there has created a rich, creamy, tasty whisky sauce which is to die for. The service is so warm and friendly. The whole place is an oasis with a great selection of wholesome cooking. We will book a table next time as it is very busy during the day.

    • Popular coffee/lunch place

      Reviewed 03 February 2019

The food is good, the service by local youngsters mainly, menu varied and with specials. It's a bit of a big barn and the acoustics make it a bit noisy but definitely worth a try for casual coffee, snack or lunch.

    • Nice lunch

My hubby and I had lunch here with friends just before Christmas. Thankfully our friends had booked a table because the place was full with people queuing for tables. Our lunch was average but I would recommend the cullin skink soup. Even though the restaurant was full we couldn't fault the service.

    • Great place to eat and catch up

      Reviewed 17 November 2018

Had a Saturday lunch with old friend on first visit to Glasgow in 15 years. Location was chosen by friend who lives locally. Food was good, I had fish and chips. Coffee was ok but the empire biscuits were excellent. My friend recommended them and I was not disappointed.
