    • Yummy

We went here on a recommendation from a local fishing guide. It was well worth it. Fast seating on the patio overlooking the delta. We started with crab chowder and crab cakes(both are great). My wife had the crab angel hair lasagna and I had fish and chips. Both were fantastic. Slower than Im used to for service at the table but very talkative and super friendly. Even the cat.

    • Outside Overlooking the Water was my favorite

Stopped here for dinner. Started with a couple of mojitos from the bar. Had to have the clam chowder...very good! Then had Branzino for dinner which was also very good. Service was exceptional. We ate outside overlooking the water which was very pleasant. Had a very nice dinner and look forward to returning.

    • Overpriced, overrated, overcrowded

After reading rave reviews, my wife and I decided to try The Dead Fish as there are very few restaurants dedicated to seafood in the East Bay. We were not impressed. Parking here was a nightmare as all three lots were packed. We ended up parking about a quarter mile away and walking to the restaurant. Upon entering and saying we had reservations and were seated immediately (good) at a table by a service door where the table was so wobbly we couldnt possibly sit there (bad). Plus, there was only one chair (really bad) so the bus staff found a second chair whose springs were sprung in the cushion (unacceptably bad!). Sitting on the chair would also have been impossible. We honestly considered leaving but our waiter, noticing our discomfort, moved us to a back corner table. (So much for the spectacular Bay views!) Our wait staff was attentive (good) but the food was average at best. Id say we could have dined at Dennys and had probably the same quality. For the prices you pay at The Dead Fish, I would expect great quality, wonderful presentation and a much better atmosphere. Would I recommend Dead Fish? Nope. Will not be back.

    • A Good Choice

A wee bit pricey, especially the $9.99 for spinach, but very popular and almost always crowded. Excellent bread rolls and most of the fish entrees are very good.

Plenty of space for large group. Service was excellent. Food was superb. I would go there again to try all the other wonderful looking dishes..I got the crab enchilada and they are to die for...I did get the 2 which I took one home. It heated up just a good as it was at the restaurant. The bread is baked in a kelp shape and is worth the calories and carbs. They brought the birthday girl a surprise candelabra which was so sweet. I will go here again.
