    • Terrible, Rude and Discriminative owner!

My husband booked accommodation for the family. They would join me in SA as I had been there all week. I arrived first at the Guest House, pressed the bell a few times with no response. I eventually sat in my car and googled the number of the lodge to call. The lady (owner) answered her phone and was rude (I will not go into details). Eventually opened after I had pressed the intercom for over 10 minutes. My husband and kids arrived about an hour later. My brother-in-law came to drop off some items for us later that evening, I must say it was late, around 9pm. We had not been told that visitors are not allowed. While we waited for him to ring us, the owner came knocking hard on our door with her dogs, marched towards the living room and screamed at my husband and I about how we should read terms and conditions, she also went a step further to say that she suffers from anxiety because people like us had pointed a gun at her twice before and the reason why she does not like to let visitors in at night. A few seconds into her tantrum, she must have realised what she had said, because she quickly changed and said she did not have a problem with us or anyone and that she does not discriminate by race or colour at all. This was out first night but because we had paid a full R3900 odd, we were forced to stay the next night, but this was our experience with TUAREG and our kids were in the very same room in which this lady was telling and screaming at us. Be sure to read her Ts & Cs!!!

    • I was disappointed

It's a beautiful place but my experience this time was not nice. Dstv wouldn't work and I was asked whether I don't have a TV at my house why can't I fix this one. I was also told they were out with friends and couldn't come help. Microwave wasn't working, when I called for help I was told there's nothing they could do. There's a big difference in how blacks VS whites are treated. At breakfast, we didn't get the sane service as other guests. Lastly, on day 2, the staff knocked so hard on the door to tell us to leave and come back later coz she wanted to clean. We found this so rude as we had planned to have a day indoors.

We stayed with Bertha for 2 nights along with 2 other couples. All the rooms/apartments were extremely well appointed and very comfortable. Bertha is a wonderful host and her staff are also very welcoming. The houses are set in superb gardens and are very secure. Spoilt for choice with breakfast from an extensive menu. Bertha also provided a delicious evening meal on request You must like dogs as Bertha has family pets. Thank you Bertha for a wonderful experience.

We had the pleasure of being able to stay at this fabulous guest house. The property was beautiful as where the surrounding gardens and pool. The breakfast had so many choices, and was sumptuous, in fact having eaten so well, it kept me going for hours. We also appreciated Bertha's attention to detail, nothing was too much trouble, for her or her staff. Highly recommended Tuareg, and will come back again.
