    • Most Amazing Resort!!!

Stayed at The Tongsai Bay for 10 glorious days with my husband and my 10 month old son. Since arriving at the hotel we were greeted with smiles and 5 star service from the security guard down to the guys that manage the pool area. The rooms and the grounds are well maintained and super clean. The hotel is super quiet and in a secluded area which makes it a great retreat. The only down side is the food prices are expensive... what you expect in a resort. We left for dinner in Chawang one night and it was too busy for us, with a little one so for the rest of the time we just hung out at the hotel. My family and I absolutely recommend the Tongsai Bay to anyone looking to travel to Samui. We hope to visit again soon!!! Thank you Tongsai Bay for all of your hospitality!!!

I stayed here with my 15 year old son for a week in July as part of the 3 centre trip. Check in was slightly disappointing as after contacting the hotel in advance regarding having a room not on the ground floor this is what they took us too. The hotel is in a stunning location but after the beach in Koh Phanghan we found the beach here slightly gravely. Beach shoes would be recommended. We used some of the water sports available at the beach. We spent most time at the adults pool which was much quieter and had stunning views. Service round the pool was good. Lunch was excellent but we went out for dinner as the hotel was very quiet. I was last in Koh Samui 20 years and whilst it is a lot more developed it still retains some of what we loved about it then. We visited the elephant sanctuary which was a fantastic experience and would recommend.

First time to Thailand and the whole holiday was centred on a week in a seafront villa in Tongsai Bay. The hotel is tucked away in its own bay, a 10-15 min walk from anywhere else so really quiet and quite isolated. The hotel is stunning, spotlessly clean and well serviced. It was low season when we were there which made it really quiet (not a bad thing). We spent most of our time in our villa, thats what we paid for, and it certainly met all of our expectations, we are pretty well traveled, I think this is the best room we have ever stayed in, pictures provided. The hotel is on a hill so where ever you go you will need to embrace your inner mountain goat or ring for a buggy. Even so, I wouldnt recommend to anyone with mobility issues. Good Points For Us? Service. The staff were all fantastic, very attentive, and obviously our room. Loved the peace and quiet, no music blaring round the pool, just birdsong, stunning OK Bits? Food was OK, a bit generic; breakfast was the normal stuff, no complaints. We ate out all except two nights. Ate at Chef Toms one night, just didnt get it. It wasnt comfortable, too warm, even with fans going. We were eating out and paid half the price for pretty much the same. Ate in the beach restaurant the last night, had a bottle of wine and a big seafood platter. Absolutely stunning but ridiculously expensive! Niggles? Just the one. Maybe its the Yorkshireman coming out in me; maybe Im just more used to All Inclusive. Prices are ridiculously expensive. Our room cost a lot of money for the week, and was worth every Baht but over a fiver for a beer? Over a tenner for a cocktail? (After youve put service charge and tax on). There is a half price happy hour at 22:00. I worked out the cheapest bottle of wine to be 44. I can pretty much quote word for word what the hotel will reply, shame I can't reply to their reply. We ate out nearly every night, from local restaurant to a la carte, nothing like the prices the hotel were charging, silly prices because they know many guests wont move. I reckon you can easily go through 1k a week in food and drink. Overall, fantastic holiday, the hotel is gorgeous, would definitely recommend

    • Privileged location

Privileged location for someone looking for privacy albeit at a cost of being isolated from the reality i.e. the rest of the island :) Very helpful staff and we liked the fact that the use of beach equipment was complementary. Having said that the resort is a below a typical 5 star standard. Our villa was a bit tired and food at the restaurants was missing a spark. Insofar this is not a particularly attractive value for money proposition.

    • Nice resort but expensive food and far from restaurants

We stayed here and found the resort good. We loved the water side area, amazing staff! King and the team. There are free SUP boards, wind surfs, hobie cat and kayak. Was fun using all the equipment on private beach. As others mentioned, it was worth taking sand shoes. Private beach. Free water at beach side, loads of loungers. Fantastic pool for kids too, That was great. However the food prices at the hotel were really too expensive and so had to venture out every day for food. I think the hotel needs to up its game and provide a more reasonable option, so families dont have to leave every night, without breaking the bank! This meant a 15-20 min walk to Chong mon which was a little tough for the kids. With a taxi about 200 bhat back. We also went to fishermans village which was great to eat. Again about 400 bhat each way. Difficult to get it cheaper as we had two kids. Overall the room was good, service good. Beach and pool great, but food prices way too much.
