    • September sunsets at The Sunset

      Reviewed 22 September 2019

Great resort to stay, comfortable and clean accommodations, limited number or rooms makes it feel quaint and intimate and the opportunity to get to know staff and other guests. It provides a personable experience. Location is prime, on the beach with great sunsets and the ability to walk along and enjoy the phenomenal views. Kayak, paddle board, bicycles, vespa-to rent, beach massages are all right there to enjoy. It was awesome.

    • The perfect resort for some!

Are you after a beach holiday with the following: Small (25 rooms), great customer service, remote, quiet (i.e. make your own entertainment), verdant, lovely beach, great sunset? If it's yes to all, this is the PERFECT hotel. Move on to another hotel (or you'll only complain) if you're after a large hotel with lots of facilities, entertainment, people, shops, clubs and bars. Please also note that there is a LOT of greenery which is stunning, but this also comes with an array of small wildlife. Okay, so you've decided a small and quiet hotel is for you. We stayed for 5 days and the staff were all very helpful - special mention to Aom and Jayson, thanks for making our stay very memorable. Food: Breakfast runs for a long 3.5 hours - the food was plentiful but please note (sorry for the constant reminder) - this is a small hotel, not the Hilton / Holiday Inn, so there is not an infinite range of food and drink but what's there is good quality and filling. Happy hour cocktails are good value. We only had dinner once there and the food was excellent but pricey (you are in a quality hotel). Facilities: there is a spa there which we didn't use. Sunbeds were plentiful and there was no need to reserve them, although the hotel wasn't full when we were there. The swimming pool is enormous for a small hotel. Considering there was so much vegetation, the staff kept the pool very clean and not over chlorinated. The beach is lovely - sandy at the beachfront and a little rocky further out for about 30 metres before turning sandy again. The rocky area is very shallow for most of the time. Rubbish is washed up to shore and the hotel does its best to keep it clean. Towels provided for pool and beach. There are complimentary bicycles, kayaks and paddleboard - we used all of them daily and had great fun. The gym is a separate building above the hotel and has a great view of the beach. The equipment was good for a small hotel but if you're used to pushing big weights, you might find it wanting. Water and towels provided. Room: we had a garden jacuzzi villa which was stunning and private. It was very shady so the jacuzzi was cold but very refreshing in the heat. Generous room size, TV had a good selection of English speaking channels. Fridge, kettle and safe provided with ample storage. The bathroom was semi outdoors with vegetation accompanied by native inhabitants (ants, snails, lizards, mosquitoes) - urbanites take note. The hotel does its utmost to keep them at bay. Separate towels provided for washing and for the jacuzzi. Bottled water topped up daily. Outside the hotel: we used the bikes daily and explored the surrounding area - mainly quiet, small country lanes with very courteous careful drivers, state of the roads were very good. Stopped at local stalls, shops, bars and restaurants. At none of them did we feel we were ripped off. There are only a few hotels in the vicinity so nightlife is very low key. We had a few hours at the nearby Nathon town to buy some souvenirs - perhaps we didn't give it much of a chance, but it didn't really attract us. Great customer service: One of our clothes was stained by what we thought was from the floor but as it turned out, it was from the sunscreen we used. The staff were really great in first trying to clean it themselves and then sent it to their external specialist cleaner. It was returned in a very good condition and free of charge. On another occasion, we found a large number of ants by the front of our villa. Housekeeping arrived within seconds of putting the phone down. Summary - would we return to the hotel? ABSOLUTELY 100% tomorrow, if we could!!

    • The best place for honeymoon

      Reviewed 03 July 2019

Been there for 3 nights. The beach, the scenery, the staff, the room... Everything is wonderful, from the kindness of the smiling staff to the cleaness of the area. For sure the best hotel I've been in my life so far. Be careful, the location is a bit a far from the night parties of Samui... Which is way better, as you feel more at peace, like in a another world. 200% recommended. Perfect for honeymoon !

      Reviewed 17 June 2019

We spend the last part of the holiday in this unique resort and had 4 wunderful days there. We choose the location far away from tourist spectacles on the west side of the island- beautiful sunsets inclusive. If you want party, noise, lots of people- stay away. We enjoyed the high end Restaurant, the good pool, our beach Villa with all amenities, walks on the beach, canoeing on the sea. At least it wouldnt be the pleaseant and enchanting stay without the staff- we will never forget the birthday cake for our son- inclusive candles and a song- we were all exciting- especially Patrik an Naan in the Restaurant- who let us feel welcome and pampert for every wish- thank you guys and the rest of the heartopened staff- this is for the managegement- these people are your treasure and fill this place with love and warmth. Thank you for the unforgetable stay
