A typical business travelers hotel located in one of the busier thoroughfares of Patna to what can be described as a neighbourhood for hotels. There isnt much of a view from any of the rooms as it is surrounded by residential buildings all around of almost equal height unless one is lucky enugh to have been allotted a room which faces the iconic Gandhi Maidan. The rooms are of standard size & the absence of a swimming pool is quite a disappointment given the average tariff the property charges. There isnt much of a walkway within the property but that seems to have been compensated with the enormous park at the front i.e, the Gandhi Maidan. But their limitation of property size is probably counter balanced with their courteous staff who may not be having the most fashionable professional degrees to showcase but are quite helpful nevertheless. The food quality is at best standard but one annoying feature would be the absolute lethargy shown by the stewards to serve at the restaurant. But a greater point of concern would be their complimentary wi-fi. If one tries to log in, irrespective of whether through a mobile or a laptop, one would be served the caveat of the connection not being a secure one. In this age of concern for data privacy, this is huge factor to make ones stay uneasy. Luckily, most business travelers have a private data connection of their own. On the whole, this is worth a visit only if available at a competitive rate.

    • Terrible experience

How quickly can a hotel go from being the best to the worst? 10 years? 20? The Panache, Patna did it in 5. My last stay was so good here, that i regret making a decision to stay there again. Starting with the rude front desk, they denied me the entry to my room (booked online, in my name), saying that my relative has booked another room which he has not paid for. So I need to pay half of the total booking amount in order to get it done. We had to literally shout at the peak of our voices in the lobby in order to get the reservation through. The policy of no show was not discussed with my relative when we were booking. We had to anyway book a room (at $100 for a room which costs $50 online) from the pre-booking from my relatives. The front desk is extremely unprofessional and rude. They start speaking in English, and deny just about everything. And when we got to the room, the door refused to open with the key. It took them 1 hour to resolve this issue. Next is the room service. After we had checked in, we asked for some extra bottles of water, which the room service executive said will be on a chargeable basis. We agreed. Even then it took them 30 minutes to get the water to the room. We asked for extra plates for serving the guests, they denied, giving the silliest excuse, The Corona Virus. How stupid of them. The massage chair in the Presidential suit is all worn out, and there has been no sign of maintenance. The carpet in the lobby has a lot of dirt on it; it hasnt been cleaned in ages I guess. The buildings exterior is in a sad state (too dirty), as well as the entrance to the hotel. The sound proofing of the road facing rooms are so bad that you would literally feel the honk and tire noise right into your ears. The lift is another feather of shame in their hat. It requires the key in order to operate, which means, if I leave the room without the key (room still occupied by +1) then there is no way I can take the lifts back to the floor of choice. Stair entry has been locked from outside as well. Coming to the restaurant, pretty expensive, and food tastes like crap. Even the free breakfast feels expensive. 90% of the food that was served during brunch time was cold. The juice which they sell is seen brought from outside stall, who sell it for less than $0.25 and they in turn sell it for $3. No hygiene is maintained at the restaurant. Overall if there was an option of giving 0 Stars for this hotel, I would have given. Rather stay at Lemon tree hotel or the Maurya, both nearby. It deserves a single star overall for its prime location.
