    • Nice, fancy, clean, with great Staff!

Had a business trip and needed a nice and quite hotel to stay. Booked online, but also connected to the reservations dpt of the hotel which was very kind and helpful. Reception staff was also nice, however I was not very happy not to have any help carrying a rather heavy suitcase and a heavy backpack. That was a fail. Room was nice though, comfortable, clean, bright with a nice sea view as I have asked for. Spa services were exceptional: salon de coiffure and care thanks to Athena, spa and in particular, the lomi lomi massage with Barbara were fantastic. Both smiling, experienced professionals, friendly and caring, they really made the difference. In the external pool area, well you should expect noise and lack of sun umbrellas! Only a part of the sun beds is covered, so make sure either to go early, or to bring tons of cream. The pool bar is good, Maria and Anatoli, fast and pleasant! However the drinks are not prepared in place but in the lobby lounge, so you should be patient for 20-30 minutes till you taste your cocktail! A Lifeguard is also present, but the hotel management seems to forget that the lifeguard should exclusively watch and care about people in contact with the swimming pool water, around and in the pool according to the Law; not asking them to give towels or take care of sun beds and umbrellas. Meals wise: breakfast buffet is rich but missing local ingredients at the exception of bougatsa and kolouri. Furthermore, three out of four mornings, pancakes have finished before 8.30 but never replaced although breakfast was served till 10.30 during working days and 11.30 during the weekend. However, don t omit to ask for your omelette in the stand, they cook it amazingly in front of your eyes. Also tried Chan restaurant. Well, they want to call it the best japanese resto in Thessaloniki, but it is simply ok. First because it is not a japanese restaurant; it s half modern greek and half japanese. Then, because they opted for the mainstream nigiri and sashimi, with easy to find and serve tuna and salmon, lacking this special touch and taste of more interesting and delicious fish. The platter was neutral and flat in taste, with the shrimps completely tasteless. The bao buns stuffed with mayonnaise and saltless. But, the cocktails (also coming from the lobby, arriving in some 20 minutes after placing the order!), are good (got the green apple experience). Touching detail: had my birthday and I was offered a nice tiramisu by the two fantastic staff, who also sang the birthday song and wished well and more. In addition, when asked for restaurant options in the city and the surroundings, I was given excellent suggestions by Antonis and John at the reception. Overall, a nice hotel but not close to the city but with a minibus offered every hour or a taxi for 5-8 euros, you re in! Staff is fantastic too, polite, friendly, professional, caring. F & B is decent but can definitely make the effort to become what really responds to the Met reputation. A yes, will visit again for sure!

Stayed a couple of nights with family. A well planned and designed hotel. Service is excellent!!!! Amazing day spa ( thanks Varvara ) and rooftop pool. Great food too. Super clean and very comfy bed. Is 2km from city town, easy to walk but has hourly free shuttle bus too. Sandra

    • Sleek , Stylish and Impeccable Service

I was visiting Thessaloniki for the first time and chose The Met as it had a great location , contemporary styling and also leisure facilities for any down time I might have. I followed advice on the website and booked through the hotel with the possibility of an upgrade upon arrival. At check in this was not mentioned. I assumed ( quite rightly as it turned out) that the hotel must have been full. I think it would have been advisable for staff to tell me this after I chose not use an agent such as My business suite was the epitome of style and comfort. The facilities and furnishings were of a high standard , especially the coffee machine. I think that perhaps complimentary bottled water would be a nice addition to a room of this standard. The Molton Brown cosmetics and additions such as dental hygiene kit were fabulous. The robe and slippers are standard in rooms of this type but the robes here were plush and luxuriant. The roof top pool and bar area was stunning, with views across the city and beyond. The only criticism would be of the immediate surrounding area which is very run down. I understand it is about to be redeveloped though. Staff were attentive and extremely friendly. I felt cared about as well as cared for. Particularly by the staff at the pool bar. The glass floor directly outside the lift does need some attention and I did feel a little nervous walking on it. Nevertheless the rest of the pool area was tranquil and extremely clean. It didnt feel as if we were directly opposite such a busy port. The story of the city is written along the bottom of the walls on each floor. I found this charming. I would recommend The Met unreservedly and look forward to my next visit.

This is a wonderful hotel. Most of our trip was with the Marriott and this was no exception excellent customer service. My wife and I were leaving early and the hotel got us breakfast to go. The view was great !!! As you can see it was easy to stay at the roof top hotel for dinner. Our waitress Katerina ( father Alexander) was amazing. Must get the Black Angus Steak. As well the front door man Billy was great !!

An excellent hotel, new and beautifully designed. Not centrally located so quiet and has a free hourly shuttle to and from downtown. Good size rooms. Clean. Very helpful staff. Open swimming pool on top. Very nice breakfast.
