    • Perfect location

We could not have asked for a better location. It was far enough away to be quiet for rest but close enough to walk to dinner and back. And the walk was beautiful all along the water on a paved trail away from traffic. Thank you Dana and Peter for giving us a place to keep in the files , we will surely be seeing you again.

I booked a room for 2 nights a couple of months back. First night sept 14th. I ended up in hospital for 5 days and cannot travel. So when I called to cancel I was not expecting a full refund but at least a 50%...??? Nothing! We are out 256.00!! Terrible, especially when they can EASILY make their money back!

Nice little spot, good location, near the Rocky Mountain Park and within walking distance of the downtown area, close enough to walk but far enough away there's not a lot of town noise or traffic. It's a short drive to the two main park entrances. Our room was "rustic" and small, but relatively comfortable. It had little closet space and a tiny bathroom which was fine for a short stay. Fortunately we didn't have much except hiking clothes/gear and casual street clothes. It would be inconvenient if we'd been in town for, say, a formal wedding as well where we had to store dressy outfits, or had a lot of ski gear. There was a minimal kitchenette area (sink, counter, mini-frig, microwave) in a tiny corner near the bathroom. We didn't have to wait for hot water in the shower. We sat outside in the evenings on the little bistro set and watched birds in the trees while drinking wine. There's a nice courtyard area for guests and I saw a hot tub (not in use). We drove to the park for hiking each day and walked into town for dinner every evening. The A/C didn't cool the room very well at night; we should have called management but were too lazy. It's possible we didn't have it set right. We could have left the windows open since the outside air was cooler, and we had a corner unit so we got a cross breeze. There was a breakfast area where we could get coffee and a continental style breakfast in the mornings. Parking was convenient. Management was friendly and available. This was a fair value for the location and we'd likely stay here again.

The Hotel was so clean. We had Room 5 with a King Size bed. It was an easy walk to downtown Estes Park from the Inn. Breakfast was good and the owners were super helpful. It was an easy drive from the hotel to the Rocky Mountain National Park.

    • A perfect place to stay in Estes Park

We booked a room at the Maxwell purely based off of prior Trip Advisor reviews. We are so glad we did, because the property lived up to the expectations we had. Everything at the Maxwell was clean and well maintained, from the lobby to the rooms to the grounds; everything was cared for. The staff at the property was extremely attentive and very pleasant. Dana, who owns the Maxwell, came out each evening to start the fire pit, even before we could go in to ask. She was so friendly and engaging, and we could tell her and her husband take great pride in their hotel. She was such a wonderful host!! Our room, a king room on the second floor, was spacious and, like everything else at the Maxwell, clean and well maintained. There is nothing more we could have asked for! The Maxwell is very well located for both the downtown area (just a short, very pleasant walk away) and the National Park. We spent hours each evening just sitting by the fire pit, enjoying a glass of wine, and marveling at the views and serenity surrounding the property. Our stay at the Maxwell far exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely book there again the next time we visit! Rick and Karen
