    • A hotel with heart, lots of them!

      Reviewed 16 May 2020

I stayed with Lodhi in Nov 2019 and went back again beginning of Feb 2020. I was so looking forward to seeing the team again as they made me feel like family last time. The team not only met but far exceeded my expectations. Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Chief Concierge Rajesh understands what outstanding customer service means and trains his team well. We had an incident with a tour guide in Agra which made the trip very unpleasant, as soon as he was notified, he had it rectified immediately. By the time the trip ended, I almost forgotten that it happened. Rajesh and I had a chat when I was checking out. He felt more like a friend than a hotel staff caring how my trip was. He mentioned that he noticed that I was always rushing in and out and asked me to consider slowing down to relax and enjoy the hotel. He invited to me to have tea with him, we both knew we did not have time this trip but I made a mental note that Id make time for it in my next visit and I am very much looking forward to it. Gaurav Chauhan, Assistant Manager Concierge I had some critical personal matters to attend to which started before the trip and needed help in India. It was a huge and complicated project and Gaurav went above and beyond to help me out. Even on his off days and his wedding anniversary, he was running around trying to sort things out for me. I could tell that he was helping me out of his heart more than she is a client and it is my job. He would diligently clarify my needs, double-confirm understanding, check accuracies, follow-up etc to ensure I was getting the help I needed. He genuinely cared about my personal matter and well-being to the point where in my opinion, was beyond his job scope. I dont need to rave about the help from him on planning my tours, travel logistics, dinner/hotel reservations, whether it was in New Delhi or other parts of India. He made sure I received what I was looking for, anytime, any day. He has no doubt lived up to the hotels motto of The difficult you can have right away. The impossible just takes a little longer I thank you from the bottom of my heart, Gaurav. Sandeep Sharma, our chauffeur friend Sandeep is not only our chauffeur friend, he is also our tour guide, travel mate, bodyguard all in one. He possesses a pleasant, gentle soul that exudes care and kindness. Even with all these different identities, Sandeep never fails to observe appropriate boundaries, which makes me respect him even more. In his own quiet and understated way, his competence in handling different scenarios that were presented to him was impressive. He makes a better tour guide than some of the tour guides we have met. In a last-minute decision to visit Fatehpur Sikri, he found us a professional tour guide in a matter of minutes. He drives very safely, slowing down at every bump and ensures the temperature is comfortable in the car. And every morning, I could tell the car had been cleaned no matter how late he worked the previous night. We enjoyed his company so much we invited him to join us in visiting different sites and having his company created so much joy and laughter and made the trip much more fun and memorable. Other outstanding stars in the team which made my stay not only pleasant but amazingly heartwarming were Purushottam (always runs out of nowhere trying to help me carry my stuff and walks me back to my room), Soni (brightens your day with a big "sunny" smile), Prince (one of the best spa therapists), Abhishek (sorted things out for me at the airport where things could get complicated). Going back to Lodhi truly feels like going home, and it was sad to leave because many of them do feel like family now. Especially when they asked you to text them when you were safely home thats what family does. I am not going to review the rooms which were nothing but PERFECT. I believe the most important element is the people. We have been back three months now and we still miss the team and our wonderful experience at Lodhi a lot. Without the Lodhi team, it is just another luxury hotel. Thank you everyone at Lodhi. I look forward to seeing you soon!!

I've been staying at The Lodhi since it first opened over 15 years ago. The design is modern and fresh and light. Airy. I especially like the fact that even when thehotel may be full... it's discreet and never feels crowded. Very private. Usually, a butler whisks you straight up to your room. Be sure to ask him to bring you a glass of fresh pomegranate is very refreshing after a long flight. All of the staff...behind the scenes or management or front desk or housekeeping or room service, for example, ...are polished and gracious and very helpful. They are quiet, always unobtrusive, and superbly trained. I like the modern suites and have a particular preference for the ones on high floors...for the plunge pool and the views of Humayan's Tomb monument on the horizon. The cuisine is particularly good...healthy and fresh. Beautiful tropical fruit for breakfast. Interesting seasonal salads. I would like to recognize so many staff members...the drivers, the concierge, breakfast room service, and reservations and front desk. That would mean graciously thanking everyone. Management training here is first-rate. I can't wait to return. A very special rare hotel..

We received fabulous service from Daksh in the in room dining department. Very attentive and committed to making our stay relaxing. Good attention to detail. The hotel was very quiet due to coronavirus but they were taking good precautions with temperature checking everyone on arrival.
