Booked through a site without seeing it and did not know what to expect. Lovely! The sign outside the inn was stunning with a porch and rocking chairs before you enter. Greeted and welcomed by Diane. She showed us to our room and offered suggestions for things to do and highly recommend the Academe located in the inn for food. We read reviews and decided we must give it a try. Our first meal in Maine and it sure left a great impression. Lobster Pizza and lobster pot pie. Need I say more- yum. Room was spacious with a canopy type queen bed.First night in Maine-wow.

We thought we had a reservation at the KennebunkPORT Inn and unfortunately the similarity in names caused us to mistakenly book a room here instead. Determined to "make the best of it" we checked in, but the outdated decor, musty odor, peeling paint and wallpaper was really depressing. Also, zero view and scarce walkability to restaurants etc. Very unsatisfactory and not cheap.

    • We loved this place!

My sisters and I spent just one night here. It was like staying in a museum with all necessary amenities. The floors are creaky, but the beds were very comfortable and the shower in the claw foot tub was surprisingly good. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the staff was very helpful. Enjoy the view of the quaint town from the front porch. But if youre a light sleeper, bring ear plugs.

My second time staying here. The historic hotel is an ok place to stay. Still need to work out many heat, so they provide heaters. Had issues with the TV. The place is very load as can hear everyone in surrounding rooms and outside. The place is centrally located.

I felt like I went back in time to late 1800's in this property, and that is not a good thing. This property needs lots and lots of work. The one good thing is that it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. However, everything else was sooo soo bad. Our bedroom door had a massive crack on the top so there was no privacy really, and the walls/floors are paper thin - you can hear everything. We went to dinner and came back around 8:30pm. By 9:15pm, our neighbors upstairs arrived and had definitely been drinking and had a bit of a party in their room. Must have been 6 people at least. Music was playing, they were yelling, it was horrible. By 10:30pm by husband went downstairs to complain and no one was at the front desk since they shut between 9-7am. There is a number you can call which he did, but no one picked up and he called twice. Ridiculous. We were out of there so fast in the morning, and hope the memory of this place disappears soon. :(
