Spent a week at the Edgewater recently with a group of friends. We had booked as a group and requested to be put in same block of accommodation as each other. This was confirmed. On arrival we were put in a totally separate block. Our booking was for Lagoon view which apparently is also rooms next to pool and bar?? We were put in a ground level room with a view of the back of a thatched structure and with a path that people used to go to and from the bar. Our initial request to be moved was turned down. We were eventually moved to the same block as our group. The description of these rooms need to be amended. Our initial room should have been described as pool view or poolside. We all paid the same price so should have the same accommodation. The staff are all very friendly and the rooms are lovely and very well serviced. The bar is is understaffed at cocktail hour. We had to wait up to 40 minutes to get our drinks. I think as a couple we would not stay here again as it is too noisy and too busy. A great place for young families and wedding parties.

Took a cheeky holiday without kids and returned back to the Edgewater after 9 years. Yup no surprise it is still exactly the same! As long as you are aware that this isn't a flash resort this will manage your expectations. It is dated but it still provided with everything we needed for what we could afford. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were cleaned and grounds kept tidy everyday. Resort is located closer to town. We used our resort as a base and travelled round the island.

Firstly, thank you so much to the staff at the Edgewater. We stayed for two weeks during the NZ school holidays and everyone was really busy. At all times we found the staff polite, friendly and helpful. Secondly, facilities were exactly as we expected from previous visits. The rooms were made up daily and the fresh supply of towels was always welcomed. Our children spent so much time in the water and loved participating in all of the activities on offer. Finally, leaving Rarotonga is always hard to do (especially if youre returning to cold weather!). The staff were lovely saying goodbye to us all. We loved our holiday so much that well be returning again next year. Highlights: Island Night, Happy Hour, Activities, awesome staff and total relaxation!

We, family of 5, stayed for six nights recently in a garden villa, our first time in Raro and first time overseas in years. The villa was clean, spacious with extra amenities that met expectations. Great resort location. Great lagoon, enjoyed swimming/snorkeling. Mal's bar serves great cocktails especially during happy hour overlooking a gorgeous seaview especially when there is a sunset. Island Nights on Tues & Sat night - we went Sat night, highly recommend, a lot of fun + delicious buffet food. Resort grounds/gardens looked beautiful. However, staff friendliness/service a bit hit and miss in all areas. Had a full body massage at the resort Spa, friendly massager + good massage but Spa decor tired looking, dusty, not very inviting or completely relaxing. Did not appreciate the rude security guy who was intimidating when requiring help with the workings of our safe in our walk in wardrobe.
