    • Faultless!

      Reviewed 09 September 2019

Stayed one night, in room 1, on the 8th. Room was clean, everything needed was supplied, bed was comfortable and warm, staff were friendly and helpful. Evening meal in the restaurant was exceptional, the whitebait was tasty with a delicate coating, the fillet steak was awesome and cooked to perfection (medium rare), and the cheeses board was ample. Could not fault the hotel in any way, a bit noisy at night but that was not the fault of the hotel but inconsiderate other guests slamming doors. We shall return!

    • Beautiful classy place to stay

Checked in for one night on business. I had the white room which although small was beautifully appointed and more than adequate for my needs. The little touches make all the difference. A teapot in the room and fresh milk and water in the fridge. The shutters meant that although the room faced the road it was quiet and restful. The service on both the evening and morning was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be my first choice in Aylesbury

We stayed in the silver room (superior double room) and it was absolutely stunning. The staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel welcome. we loved all the small touches like having milk and water in the fridge which is provided every day. Also probably the cleanest place I have ever stayed, could not fault it. The food was beautiful and the breakfast menu was great. Overall a lovely place to stay/eat. Would definitely recommend!!

    • Beautiful Room

We stayed here as a friend was getting married locally, this hotel was instantly our first choice because of the copper room. The room was stunning, clean, tidy and the feature of the copper was beautiful. We just had to watch the ceiling height. Lovely stay to finish a lovely day.

    • Lovey place to stay

The hotel is on a main road, but when you get inside that is easily forgotten. That is untrue of the golden bedroom which faces the road, which despite much sound proofing suffers from traffic noise that would keep a light sleeper awake. That said the room is stylishly furnished, well appointed and spotlessly clean. The cream room was less lavishly decorated but was in a quieter location. This room has a slightly less opulent feel, but still enjoys tasteful fixtures and fittings and had a beautiful bathroom. It is unfortunate that some rooms are accessed externally so you have to go outside to access the restaurant and bar, although there was a brolly thoughtfully provided in the cream room. The food was of an excellent standard and beautifully presented. Our Saturday night stay saw a very busy bar which meant our wine arrived in time for dessert, and 4 ordered coffees were delivered in 2 separate sittings. The staff were very helpful, polite and apologetic for any beverage delays. The original historical building has been tastefully restored with obvious care and attention to quality retaining the original charm of beams, brickwork and inglenook fireplace. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay.
