    • Rude Treatment

My husband and I have been going to Tybee for 20 years and love it.Admirals Inn is our number 1 choice of places to stay. In the past we've been treated with nothing but courtesy, until now. We got a few days off and were planning one last small getaway before winter. We wanted to stay one night on Tybee,so when I called to reserve a room the lady was very nice and told me they have a policy about a two night minimum (which we couldn't meet because we didn't have that much time),but that they did have a room that was only available for one night. But when she came to the end of the reservation said she couldn't complete it due to that policy but said if I could call back the next morning and speak to a manager she would be able to fix it. She explained that normally they can't do that but since the room was only available for one night anyway she thought we could reserve it.So, when I called the next morning the lady I spoke with acted as if she did not even want to talk to me,she was Very short and rude ! I was really offended. If she would have politely told me the same thing the other lady had told me I can understand their policy, but I felt as though I was wasting her time. So we have decided to skip Tybee completely and go a little farther down the coast. We work very hard for our money and like to feel that our business is appreciated. I understand that she could have been having a bad morning or something but that's no reason to take your frustrations out on customers! Overall Admirals Inn is a wonderful place to stay, but as to whether we stay there in the future, time will tell.

Very well done! Completely remodeled rooms and in the middle of everything in Tybee Island. One block from the beach and right across the street from The Breakfast Club! Great stay! Also complimentary continental breakfast, staff was also professional and accommodating!

Was really looking forward to our visit to Tybee Island it was a great trip. This hotel has been renovated. Beds were a little on the firm side, room was clean but the smell. I went out and bought Lysol spray and Damp Rid to make the smell more tolerable. I work in maintenance and by the looks of things the ac/ heat unit is probably never cleaned. I took a toothbrush and cleaned the coils. This could make people sick. Please put these on a schedule to be cleaned.

Booked a stay at this crap hole on Tybee island for a long weekend. Unfortunately the area is under a State Of Emergency due to hurricane Dorian. So I felt the SAFE decision was to either change or cancel. So I called to explore options with my reservation and was rudely informed by the manager that I could not get a full refund because I was calling with in 3 days and I would be charged for the first night. That is their so called POLICY. That is unfortunate but understandable. I then asked if I could simply move my reservation to a different date. Again the manager who clearly lacks respect for the safety and health of others disrespectfully replys its only a state of emergency there are no mandatory evacuations right now. She then went on to say that they wouldnt make any exceptions for a little rain and would not move my reservation. Good thing they aren't meteorologists. Last I checked Dorian is a category 4 hurricane, which means even if it doesnt hit that area there will be a lot more than a little rain...Also state of emergency doesnt indicate things are great that means stay away. This hotel should be ashamed for employing such a rude disrespectful manager. To make the situation better I received my receipt for the one night that could not be refunded. I was charged 50 dollars more than what it was supposed to be. That must be their so called POLICY. My advice is save yourself the headache of dealing with the degenerate manager and stay at the hotel down the street that is actually on the beach.

HORRIBLE customer service. Was told on Wednesday when I called that the hotel "wouldn't screw us over because they are good people and I needed to call back and talk with the manager Friday". When I called today concerned about Hurricane Dorian, the manager said that I didnt have any options because she wouldn't do anything for just rain. I am almost 7 months pregnant and didn't think it was a great idea to drive over 7 1/2 hours into a hurricane, when they cannot predict where it's going. I just wanted to just move my reservation to a different date and was told that may be possible, but their system was down and she would have to call me back. Never received a call back and we were waiting to figure out if we need to leave to head that way or not. My husband called back and was told "per their policy" they would not change the dates. I feel this is absolutely ridiculous since the county is in a state of emergency and we were not asking for any money back, just a change of date. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone going to Tybee. Clearly they do not value the safety of others.
