Beautiful place highly reccomend, went on a very sunny day, got a little bit lost and ended up doing extra 2 mile so be sure to take extra water, I do think a map would have been more sensible, Jacobs ladder was a killer haha, the river at the bottom was amazing eating lunch at the side with feet dipped in

Lovely early morning walk. I got there and started walking from the car park at the village hall at 5.30. I was the only one there. Its a gorgeous walk with plenty to see. Its not a hard climb to the summit which I did via Jacobs Ladder but it is tough if your not used to walking. Great place to see, walk and the scenery is exceptional. However....it does get extremely busy and by 10.30 in the morning it was like a cattle train of people coming up. That I have no problem with but if your going to climb then I urge you to wear the correct gear. This does not mean a pair of trainers and a t shirt and does not mean taking small kids up in the same said clothing. The weather turns extremely quickly up the top and is very dangerous if you dont have the correct gear. That said it is there for all to enjoy and I urge you to go see it.

First time walked/scrambled to the summit. Went up via Grindsbrook, following the stream, easy scramble to the top, then down via Jacobs ladder. Amazing views despite the weather closing in. Glad we did it that way round. Will do again with my kids

We walked from Hayfield on a circular route finishing on William Clough, approx 15 Miles. The wind was strong enough to blow you over, and the rain came sideways at you. Make sue you have proper gear on as there is not much cover if the weather hits. Enjoyed it though, despite being wet through, mud up to my ankles and wind burn to die for.

Climbed kinder scout previously but got lost at the top and had to go back down the way we came! This time went with family members who had done many times. Park in train station car park (toilets available too) 5.20 for over 4 hours meaning youre not clock watching. Walk into edale village and turn left at signs for Pennine Way just pass the visitor centre. Lovely views as you walk through fields of sheep and through Lee Farm which takes you to the ascent of Jacobs Ladder. Jacobs Ladder is a challenge but theres a viewing point half way up and well worth it! We took a right at the top which led us along the plateau in which we did a full circle back into edale village. Take a map and compass as when we got to the top the heavens opened and visibility was above 20m in front and thats it - very easy to become disorientated and lack of signs doesnt help. I wouldnt have been able to do the circle route if it wasnt for family members knowing the way. Well worth it but come prepared.. with dry clothes too!!
