My family and I had prebooked (by way of voucher) 2 rooms and three evening meals as a Mother's Day present. My mum, sister and I visited last night to redeem her voucher. The hotel is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS - both outside and in. The rooms we were allocated had been BEAUTIFULLY decorated - 'hats off' to the owner Paul - as we were advised that you had done most of the work yourself. AT meal time the three of us sampled varied dishes from the evening menu - Starters - cauliflower soup/ haggis neeps and tarries, Main courses - fish of the day/ fish and chips and chicken in a whiskey sauce. My sister and I then had sticky toffee pudding and Eton Mess respectively whilst mum had a very generous cheeseboard. EVERYTHING was THOROUGHLY tasty - congratulations to the chef. There were only two waiting staff for what appeared to be a very busy restaurant and I think Anne and her colleague (sorry - don't remember name) deserve a medal doing what I would suggest was the work of three between them. We all slept well and enjoyed a hearty breakfast (again served by Anne) before leaving. This Hotel is definitely worth a visit as it really is in a LOVELY and secluded area which can only afford quality rest and relaxation. The only slight 'niggle' from our time there was that we had a few issues with the financial side of things (initially when booking AND on checkout) so perhaps management might consider employing another Anne as she really is worth her weight in gold.

Excellent Hosts, comfortable lounge with papers to read, lovely evening menu. Breakfast was amazing! the most beautiful croissants with proper carved ham and cheese, alongside a wonderful cooked breakfast. You felt with this place that nothing would be a problem to the owners if you had to approach them. Well done on running such a lovely place.

We were visiting Logan Botanical Gardens which are about 10 mins from the hotel. This seemed like a good base. Room was excellent (Blue Room). Service was spot on. There are lovely little rooms to sit in before/after dinner. Cosy little bar with realistic roaring gas fire!! ( Bizarrely, one member of staff kept switching off??). Dinner was delicious. Slightly unfortunately, menu the same for the two nights we were there. Less choice personally for me so ended up same dishes both nights. Enjoyed them nevertheless. Limited choice if you want a glass of wine but the merlot I had was very nice. Gin and tonic at 9 I thought steep. Nice garden to sit in. Not much to do outside the hotel close by. We walked up to the now abandoned church and wandered around the grounds. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Just returned from 2 night stay here and cannot recommend highly enough especially if you just want a charming relaxed atmosphere with great food and wine. From the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and couldnt do enough for you. We were lucky enough to be in The Royal Blue room which was fabulous and very spacious and with the little additions like bottled water and toiletries - it was lovely. We had a drink in the bar before dinner and just chilled. The food was fabulous and plentiful. Service was just right - attentive but not in your face. Fillet Steak and sea bass were truly delicious, as was the banana bread with sticky toffee sauce. The dining room has a cosy ambience and breakfast was served in a lovely airy conservatory. If youre looking for a relaxing break with good food and great staff then please give it a try. Definitely will be returning. Thank you.
