Stayed here with my daughter. It was clean, very comfortable & had a great espresso machine in room. The deck could have used an awning, as the sun beat down & it was too hot & bright to enjoy it. The staff was very nice & helpful.

I saw this Hotel last year when we were passing through Buena Vista on our way to Snowmass. I made a travel note to be sure and look it up for Summer 2019. We stayed at the Surf Hotel for 2 nights. Our room had a balcony overlooking the Arkansas River. The sound of the river is so beautiful. I wish we could have opened the window to hear it all night long. The room was small but lovely. The bed was so comfortable. The decor in the room is modern minimalist. There is no phone in the room. There is no real closet. Our room had a nespresso coffee maker and an electric tea kettle and a small refrigerator. I will definitely stay here again.

I cant say enough good about this boutique hotel. Of all the hotels I have stayed in my life, this one ranks very high. The developer used lots of natural wood, stone, brick, in the building, lovely details with beautiful tiles, great lighting, a very rustic, natural look. In addition the bed was SUPER comfortable, the pillows, sheets, blanket, all very comfortable and we stayed in the smallest efficiency unit and I was pleased with the excellent use of space. The bathroom fixtures, shower, tiles, all very lovely, nice size tv, great ceiling fan to keep you cool at night if you dont like to use AC. We lucked into the monday night house bluegrass band that plays weekly in the restaurant and that just made our stay even more special! The band was fantastic! The food in the hotel restaurant is also very fresh and delicious. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I cant wait to get back to the town of Buena Vista one day just to get to go back to the Surf Hotel! Keep up the great work folks! :)

I spent a short night with my wife and two teenagers. We booked two rooms in this relatively new hotel. It is located in a beautiful spot right on the Arkansas River. The hotel was custom built last year but looks like a renovated building with river stone facade, distressed wooden floors, high ceilings and subdued decor. Booking and check in were smooth and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious with exceptionally high ceilings. The bath is modern and luxurious. The bed was very comfortable. Our room had a door to the common balcony that surrounds the hotel on two sides with a great river view. (The kids had a less expensive room with no balcony and a mountain view--still not too bad!). A Nespresso machine with free coffee pods is provided--and much appreicated. WiFi is free and fast; TV's are modern with a good selection of channels. The Wesley and Rose restaurant is on sight and a fabulous choice for both dinner and breakfast. The Eddyline brew pub is a block away. The hotel has easy access to the river and hiking trails as well as a large park just in front that hosts a farmer's market on Sunday mornings. Just a few caveats: there is no parking at the hotel but there is often street parking available and some large parking lots a block away. There are no phones in the hotel rooms, no pool (you can swim in the river if the water is not too high and you love cold water) and no closets or cabinets in the rooms, although there is a bar with hangers. This is a great hotel in a cool little mountain village with close access to hiking, skiing, hot springs, and the entire Collegiate range. We will definitely be back.

Were back for our second visit and the hotel is still great. Love the balcony rooms overlooking the river but its a shame they didnt put screens on the balcony windows so we can sleep with the windows open. Would be even better with the fresh mountain air and sounds of the river flowing below. (Would also save them money on power!)
