Drove up quite late, asked for somewhere to stay and was recommended a camping suite just behind the reception. Everything was clean, tidy, nice and in working order. We were satisfied, slept very well and the personnel was very friendly and nice.

    • The worst experience we had in Norway

This guys had the nerve to charge 400 nok (around 40 euros) because apparently we didn't leave the room clean enough. I asked to send pictures of what went wrong and what exactly we left dirty and they sent photos with literally TWO HAIRS in the sink, and a super small dirty spot. That was quite literally the reason why they charged us 40 EUROS!!! I'm still waiting to get my money back. This was literally the most expensive place my friends and I stayed in Norway, and it was so tiny that we couldn't even fit all our baggage in the room (we had to leave it in the car) and it didn't even have a kitchen when all the other places did for a smaller price. The room was so tiny that it shouldn't even be conditioned for 4 people, but rather for two. There wasn't even a reception when we got there, and again, all the rest of places did have 24/7 reception. We had to leave the room in a hurry, because the check out instructions clearly stated that we could stay up until 11 pm, and at 11 am they made us leave, even though THEY MADE A MISTAKE not knowing the difference between am and pm (and it wasn't just a casual mistake because they even replied to my email saying to me that the checkout was "at 11 pm, therefore, 11 in the morning", just showing me (again) that these guys don't even know the difference between am and pm!! And instead of just recognizing their mistake, they continue to tell us that they are right, and they made us leave in the morning, meaning that we had to pack everything in a hurry cause we didn't have time for more, and we still left everything clean!! How could we leave anything dirty when we literally only stayed there for 8 hours (we only slept there)??? How could we leave the room dirty when there wasn't even a kitchen?? Literally the only thing we did was have breakfast (and raw, cause we couldn't cook anything) and still, we left nothing dirty. How do they expect us to pay 40 euros for leaving LITERALLY TWO HAIRS behind?? Bunch of robbers they are

    • Everything you need but a bit dated and not very clean

We first booked a hytter without bathroom but is was so tiny that we asked for a larger hytter. The staff was very friendly and helpful and gave us immediately what we're asked for. The general sanitary block was not very clean. There were also things lying around at the playground. Stranda has everything but just need a little more care.

Ignore the photos most of the accommodation is cramped 'pods'. I was solo so it didn't matter but sleeps 4 they must be joking. Usual Norwegian sleight of hand to pad the bill cleaning, bedding etc. Water is included!

Although just 10 minutes from the centre, it feels like in the middle of nowhere, looking out at a range of mountain peaks (at almost eye level and not too far out). The setting is speactacular. They have an entire area where there are houses of various sizes built on this semi- mountain. We stayed in a cottage for 5 pax and the cottage allotted to us was warm and cozy, and well equipped. Would highly recommend staying here if you looking for the peace and quiet. The centre is about 10 minute drive. Sheets and towels are charged for spertately (as many places in Norway do). Finding the cottage in the area was a little bit of a problem, but the receptionist was most helpful in helping us identify the cottage. The depth and largeness of the house might be a bit deceiving in the photos. The views from the sit out are unprecedented.
