Great location right on the canal, so moored up on Sunday. Wasnt sure wed get a roast, as heard that its popular and bookings recommended. We got lucky and ordered trio of roasts each. Wow. Meat was succulent and tasty, especially the belly pork. Ordered an additional Yorkshire pud, but didnt need it as good sized portion. Still ate it though lol... Disappointed the Doom bar was off, but Guinness was good quality. We visited again the next day for a quick bite before setting off for Skipton. Wagyu burger canny. Staff ok but could be friendlier. Landlady in particular. Felt like she didnt want to be there.... Food good though and would return if in the area.

We called at The Bay Horse with our two Grandsons on our last night of holiday we werent disappointed the service was great and the food excellent and very well priced the wine was reasonable priced too my Granson also enjoyed a desert .

I visited recently as party of a large party. Considering there were 14 of us the service was very good. The weekend off of 2 courses and a couple of drinks for 21 was good value. I had Pate and steak which was very good.

Disappointing birthday meal and family celebration

We booked a table for 9 people for. Thursday 25 July to celebrate my husbands birthday plus visits from my son & grandson from Canada and my son and granddaughter from Scotland. We arrived in plenty of time and the table was ready for us but when we tried to order drinks from the bar we were instructed to go to the table where a drinks order would be taken. Over 30 minutes later we were still waiting for anyone to come and take a drink or a food order. Meanwhile the one waitress had taken orders from several other tables and served a second round of drinks to a table that had already eaten their meals! We eventually got served although our original orders were lost on the electronic order tablet! However some of our initial menu choices were unavailable. There were no dough based menu options, (so no dough balls, bread sticks or pizzas), no salad and no lasagna!! In fairness most of the food we were eventually served was good although my Sea Bass was a disappointing old piece of fish on a mound of watery mashed potato! All this was rounded off with a refusal of my perfectly valid AA discount voucher until I managed to download it again on my phone! A birthday meal and family celebration ruined! We will think twice before returning!!

Booked a table for four Tuesday 23 July when we arrived extremely busy but the barman and waitress were great served us drinks appologiesed for any delay,the food was excellent well done to the chef ,Will definitely go again and would recommend it highly!
