    • Quaint and worth a visit.

Went on a drive in the hills to find some local history. Great little spot. Small village with narrow roads. Grotto (Caves) were interesting, a climb down, but with metal steps or rope hand rail in most places. Gentle slope down, only steep-ish near the top (town). A delightful restaurant near the caves, well worth a stop, would be amazing for a dinner with views.

    • Non touristy historic spot, nicely preserved

The people in the Zungri caves lived a good life. Tropea onions, good herbal drinks, plenty of sunshine, fertile soil, and a fabulous view from the cave condominium possibly made it a heavenly existence. The museum is not worth spending any time in but for 3 Euro a person you can walk up and down this fascinating cave complex almost by yourself provided you go there in March or April or rather avoid July and August.

    • Totally worth a visit

The museum and caves were a wonderful surprise. Just a short drive from Tropea this nice this town is rich in history. Highly recommend a visit.

Little jewel of Calabria, really close to Tropea. I strongly suggest to go and visit it, no anticipations, you'll be surprised.

    • Fascinating!

A brilliant small museum containing photos and artefacts from the past in the town itself leading down to the caves which are unbelievable - habitations carved out of the rocks, and lived in for centuries! You need sturdy footwear and some energy to walk down all of the steps then around the caves. Also fascinating was the area around as you hear about a plateau in school geography but here one was acres and acres of farming thousands of feet above sea level.
