    • Short stay - not bad

      Reviewed 10 July 2019

Entry to the hotel premises creates an idea that the hotel is big on security, which creates a small bit of inconvenience entering the premises. The rooms are a bit dated and not bad, though could do with better pillows. During my stay, the menus were mainly buffet based, however they were not bad. I am not sure if it is standard practice in ouagadougou, but do take note that you will be charged two different types of taxes for each night upon checkout.

    • Good security. The rest is disappointing.

The first room had the toilet and shower dirty (not a good start but it gets worse...). New room is ok (at the beginning) even though towels are 20 years old or more and the hairdryer doesnt work. Food is really bad quality and the service is slow. The exercise room is a scam: all machines are broken. The last day of my stay, it rained and I got woken up by drops of water from the ceiling. Complained to the staff and ( before the rain) to the direction. Not even a coffee offered as a symbolic gesture!

    • Stay away from the reception desk!

      Reviewed 14 April 2019

Rooms: clean but old. The toilet was leaking liquids. Smelly. Air conditioning : noisy. Restaurant : ok. You can eat. Strangely the buffet is better than a la carte. Don't try pizza, has nothing to do with the original. Nota bene : last year I stayed in Napoli for 3 months, so I know what pizza means. Last but not least : reception desk. Try to avoid. Cold, slow. Don't ask things. If they answer you, the best you get is NO. Before leaving I have asked to print ONE page, my airplane ticket. First try they didn't answer. Second try I got the NO. So, before going to this place it will be wise to buy a portable printer.

    • Watch your bill - refund impossible to get

I have never rated a place terrible - and I stay in over 20 hotels of all sizes across Africa in year. We arrived the day the Ethiopian Airlines plane crashed - we were all traumatised by the loss of life and we flew on ET that same morning. 1. The day we checked out, I was charged the full cost of accommodation and incidental. The organizer of the trip asked for my bill - which I gave and he immediately said I am not supposed to pay since the accommodation was booked and paid for in full by the institution. Well, three of us has already been billed. The front office said they would reverse it when the manager arrives (16 March 2019). With a flight to catch, we left. Later in the day I noted it was not yet refunded. The organizers called the hotel who said it will be reversed on Wednesday when the accountant will be at the facility ( 20 March 2019). I wrote to the hotel and they did not reply. The team that paid for the trip wrote to the hotel and they have not responded yet - two weeks later. Leaving me $1000 to ask my bank not to honour. 2. The warning signs were everywhere though. The lady at the bar exchanged my bills with that of my friend. 3. They have the most inflexible workers. If you want to eat anything else that is not pizza/burger or buffet, you have to go and eat it in your room even if you ordered it at the restaurant in person 4. It was my first time in Burkina but there are plenty of mosquitoes perhaps due to the dam just outside the property Great property, relatively clean but could be more human!

... still leaves a lot to be desired. Mostly everything is okay. I have stayed a few times and will be trying something new next time. Great pool and outside patio though! Breakfast buffet is also fairly complete. They normally hire musicians at night as well to play by the outside dining/bar/pool area.
