    • Comfortable stay

Hotel is located nearby several restaurants. Room is spacious and mine with big balcony. Big king size bed with a sofa enough for at least 3 pax comfortably. Bathroom is equally spacious with good amenities. Shower has a steady and strong flow. Breakfast is modest but pleasantly filled with local fruits. Guests get to enjoy light refreshments during the day. Supply delicious plum soda. Good location for business. Opposite hotel there's a new construction. However if return after office hours and windows closed, no sound heard. Overall comfortable stay.

    • We spent 2 weeks at Sol Hotel while visiting some of my wifes family near Hsinchu

Very good hotel for the price. Breakfast-both Chinese and Western- was varied and generally well done. Staff in all areas were very helpful and courteous. Since Hsinchu is a high tech city with Western influences, English is generally spoken although, since my wife is Taiwanese/Hakka, she handled any needed translation for me. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our family stayed one night here and it was comfortable. The room was spacious. Bathroom was adequate but could use a more modern update. Breakfast was very good with lots of Chinese and Western fare. Staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Beware - the hotel is located across the street from an elementary school so it can be noisy at certain times of day especially when youre sleeping and trying to adjust to the new time zone. Average stay but good enough to still recommend.

    • A very trustworthy and convenient place

We've been here twice, just this first week of February, and last year in April. Our relatives live in Hsinchu and we wanted a hotel that not only has good amenities, but has reliable urban needs, like nearby banks, bus stations and even other restaurants. Sol Hotel is connected to an Italian bar and restaurant and to a Japanese restaurant! It's also next to a small park, with other quick stops and food stalls. Malls and shopping centers can be walked from the hotel, such as Sogo, if you want, but I recommend walking to their various shopping centers or to their bus stations, because you can see the modern culture and atmosphere of Hsinchu. The walk to Sogo or Big City mall is personally enjoyable. Anyway, as for the hotel itself, it has a free breakfast buffet with a good variety of East and West cuisine. Cleaning staff can be very efficient and, if you went out of the hotel room, may clean your room while you're out. You can put their Do Not Disturb sign so they won't have to do housecleaning on your room. They have a very efficient staff overall and the area where Sol Hotel is bustling with it's own distinct day and night life.

    • Beware of rooms with no windows.

Booked for 4 days , we were given a room with no windows. We called to change for one with windows but the hotel asked to charge nt$ 450 additional per day. I said that when I made the reservation it was a standard room and it did not said no windows. They said that the price was for a no windows room. Since it was already paid in full to Hotels.com, we had no other alternative. The room was a cold and dark ice box where you can't tell if it's day or night. Beware!
