Stayed three nights. All rooms are suites and we had one with a private pool which was great as I could swim in private at any time. The staff were very welcoming. Thanks to Vuth and team and Phai at the governors grill. As we were getting ready to leave we were offer another room as we had a wait of three hours before our flight. This was much appreciated. Thanks to all the staff and the hotel management who made our last few days of our holiday so enjoyable.

Stayed here for (unfortunately) just one night for business. The courtyard is unreal, and the Governor's Grill has just the right selection of food for my taste - both local and international. The room was outstanding, and the staff is by far the most attentive hotel staff I have ever encountered anywhere in the world (50+ countries). They are just incredibly friendly and helpful. I hope to come back to Luang Prabang and will definitely stay here next time!

We were staying in Luang Prabang as part of a 5 day stopover en route to Australia and decide to book the Sofitel for our wedding anniversary. We werent disappointed the suites are well appointed, with comfortable beds lots of space and various bathing and showering options including an outside private bath. The grounds are beautiful with a large cherry tiled swimming pool that at the time of our visit we had almost exclusive use of. We had dinner under the stars at the Governors Grill the menu of which consists of Lao- French fusion and it was very good, cocktails have a local twist and are definitely worth a try. The best thing about the place were the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful and really couldnt do enough for us, I think I would recommend staying at the hotel for that reason alone! LP is definitely worth a visit in itself and you can easily reach the centre from the hotel, Id recommend using the hotel bikes as the area is flat and traffic reasonably light.

    • Amazing hotel in Luang Prabang

We stayed at Sofitel Luang Prabang for 7 nights. Its a very beautiful heritage hotel one of the oldest in the Sofitel collection. The hotel has a very boutique-ish feel. Rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was super friendly and always helpful. They upgraded up to a pool suite - which was really amazing, so thank you The hotel is a bit further away from town, about a 3-5 minute tuk tuk ride to the night market/main street. That being said, it was not inconvenient at all, as tuk tuk's are easily available and are pretty cheap too we paid 20,000 KIP/2.0 USD for 2 people. The hotel also provides complimentary tuk tuk's in the evening to their sister property 3 Naga's hotel on the main street. Also bear in mind that Luang Prabang is a very small town so nothing is really far. The Spa was really good too. Only thing I would say the hotel can improve is perhaps their food options the menu's are very limited and no food (apart from instant noodles) is available post 10PM. If we ever go back to Luang Prabang - will definitely stay here.
