We stayed in one of the Silver Pines Village units (#20-Maple). Loved that it was stand alone unit so no neighbors above us and no common walls. Bed was super comfy. Each of the village units have decks. It would be a great place to rent out several units for a large group. Staff were very nice. I could only give it 3 stars for the following reasons: its advertised as newly renovated but I found the room to be a bit rundown...Missing screen in window, light switch in BR didnt work, screen ripped out of screen door (which we had to reinsert into groove track,) not enough outlets to accommodate the provided coffee maker (had to unplug microwave to use coffee pot). Room has a fireplace but it was so hot we didnt need it. However, even when system was off, a fan would blow hot air into the room periodically. While we were out to dinner came back to a room that was 90 degrees. Difficult to cool off room by opening windows/doors when screens were missing. The next morning I reported issue and they immediately sent someone over to shut down fireplace unit and that resolved the issue. The decor is very dark (rug, top blanket, towels) and I couldnt help but think the dark carpet is to hide stains and dirt, because all their units allow pets. On the plus side, the grounds are beautiful, and you are allowed to use grounds at the main lodge as well which includes a wonderful lodge room, a back deck that overlooks a beautiful koi pond and sitting areas in the shade. Really tranquil! Easy walk into town. Once we arrived we never moved the car as everything was so close.

I stayed in cabin #1, "The Cottage" for 3 nights in late November. It was very clean and the bed was very cozy. I was concerned by the seemingly light bedding, but the wool blanket was very warm. The fireplace works great, as does the heater. Just make sure your firewood is closer to the back of the fireplace so the room doesn't fill up with smoke. All the people I encountered at Silver Pines Lodge were friendly and helpful. I will be back!!

We stayed at Silver Pines Village which is self contained apartment/houses less than 5 minutes from the Lodge. The internet site doesnt do it justice. The site is new, modern and well Kayes out so theres privacy. We had #24 Sycamore. Its at the front, is two story and has two balcony areas, both with outdoor furniture. There are steps so if you have mobility issues, this particular unit is not for you but there are other. Ground floor had living area, dining and full kitchen, well stocked with cooking utensils. Upstairs is large king bedroom and a separate bedroom with single bed and raised, nook double bed. Ok for kids, but not adults. Bathroom with dual entry. Decor is pine walls on you feel like your in a ski resort. Lot of windows and light. Short, 5 minute walk to the main village area with the shops and restaurants. Easy parking, great internet. Would definitely stay again.

This is such a beautiful and serene place to stay. The staff is amazing and so friendly , it's very clean and it's dog friendly my 14 year old cat had just passed away the night before our stay and this was the perfect place for healing and connecting with nature. They have a beautiful koi pond and grounds yet they are walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants in town. They also have a large lodge to relax in and read a book. Did I mention that they are dog friendly? We were greeted by Dillard who my pup instantly fell in love with. I wish we could have stayed forever. I definitely recommend Silver Pines Lodge!

    • Cozy Accommodations in Silver Pines Village

The Village is located about a block from the main lodge. It consists of eleven units, in a pleasant setting on Cedar Street. Both the Lodge and Village are located close to downtown shops and restaurants. We had a pleasant stay. There was a late season storm during our visit, but we enjoyed tucking in and reading, with a fire burning in the fireplace. Each room in the Village has different features, which are detailed on the facility's website. If you decide to stay here, you will want to look at the rooms to determine which one best suits your needs. We stayed in the Ponderosa (Room #14). It has a large deck, king size bed, wood-burning fireplace and whirlpool tub with a shower/wand. There was no shower curtain, so showering did result in some overspray around the tub area. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed felt like it was memory foam, and it was very comfy. Several pillows were provided, although two of them had undersized pillow cases. We had a small refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, coffee, tea, and some tableware in the room. The downside was that this room doesn't have a kitchen or wet bar sink, and dish soap was not provided. We wound up rinsing our glasses and cups out in the bathroom sink. The vanity top in the bathroom was small, but there was a cabinet below it and a medicine cabinet above it where you could stash toiletries. The room also had a closet with hangers and space of larger bags. There was a table on the deck, but none in the room. But there were storage nooks on either side of the bed that doubled as nightstands. I had to use a laptop one day, and found that I could sit on the edge of the bed and use the bottom shelf of the storage nook as a writing table. The nooks also had plenty of space for stashing accessories and small pieces of luggage. The knotty pine interior was attractive. The flat screen TV was mounted pretty far from the bed. My husband and I had to wear our distance eyeglasses in order to watch it, although we could have used the chairs in the room to sit closer to the TV. It was a pet friendly room, but pets are not allowed to be left in the room unattended. We weren't traveling with our pet on this trip, but we did note that Idyllwild seems to be an extremely pet-friendly place. Many of the restaurants have patio dining where pets are permitted. Patio dining is impractical during inclement weather, but if you can't leave Fido unattended in your pet-friendly room, you should be able to keep him comfortable in your vehicle while you are dining during the cooler months. I've listed some additional pros and cons below. Bottom-line, we'd stay here again. Pros: +Quiet, peaceful setting +Walking distance to shops and restaurants (right next door to Ferro) +Pet friendly. They provide dog sheets to keep the dog hair off of the bedspread and comforter, and dog towels if you dog wants to splash in the creek) +Koi pond at the Lodge. Dogs aren't permitted in the koi pond, but humans are invited to dip their toes in the pond. +Friendly staff. +Economically priced Cons: -No daily maid service. (They will change sheets upon request for guest who are staying for an extended period of time, and you can exchange your towels for clean ones at the Lodge office down the street.) -Bath and hand soap is provided in the room, but there are no other complimentary toiletries in the room. The welcome materials note that guests can ask at the front desk if they need anything, and I did see that they had a basket of complimentary travel-sized shampoo bottles on the front desk.
