We went there to visit Xixi Wetland Park and hotel is inside so very convenient and you can get a discount on entrance park ticket from Concierge :). Dont come in this hotel with your car because there are no parking places available for clients of hotel:(. We went to another public parking. We tried Satine restaurant and its a great French food quality but expensive. Fitness room and swimming are nice but hot bath is not really hot and cold bath not really cold, its just warm bath so not SPA also no spare towel in female lockeroom. :( Also dont expect to wash your hands in toilets of 1st floor because there is no soap :( fortunately we had our room.

    • Scary emergency evacuation experience!

I have stayed at this a number of times, nice rooms, serene location, great scenery. Today however, I had just checked and gone to my room to change when a speaker in the ceiling advise me that there was an emergency situation at the hotel and guests needed to evacuate. I was told to leave the room urgently and not take the lift. Its a low-rise place of around 5 floors, and I was in the 4th floor. I grabbed left the room and followed the emergency exit signs in the hall. By this time there was a siren as well as the loudspeaker. I got to the emergency exit door to the stairwell and it was locked! I raced to the other end of the building, found another stairwell and went down. When I hit the bottom, the door out of the stairwell was also locked! I then noticed and exit into the garden, that was blocked by pipes and construction and I was able to unlock the door and leave. A couple of staff followed me. It was mid-afternoon and I seemed to be the only guest in the wing. Once outside there were no staff to guide me... the ones who exited with me seems to just head out for a stroll. When I walked back around to reception, it became apparent that it was only a test and also related only to my wing. In fact the front desk knew nothing about it! Poor form from the Sheraton! Two fire escape doors locked and the external exit partially blocked. If it had been a fire, people could have perished. I mentioned the incident to the duty manager who said that it was a mistake for the alarm to go off. I highlighted that it identified quite a few hazards and systems failures. As at writing, I havent had a response.

    • Picturesque Stay!

The hotel is located at the Wetland newly developed part area of Hangzhou, it is a bit remote so self traveller may find it a bit difficult go in and out from the hotel area. Okay, the above was already all the 'negative' side of the hotel, the rest is just excellent. Excellent in staff friendliness, they are quite good at English so don't worry! The hotel standard room is one of the most spacious I've ever seen, my room even has a balcony that faces the inner court yield with a small lake and a nice pagoda with trees too! The bed is just at the right softness, very comfy. The hotel knows it is quite humid over there and they even have a dehumidifier inside the room for you. The breakfast has plenty to select from but mainly Chinese style food and Chinese style western breakfast, which were okay only. Considering it is in China, I don't think I will complain about it. The bar was quite okay too, there were even a pianist and a singer performing in the evening. There weren't a lot of people in there so it is a good area to grab a drink. Overall I will be very happy to go back and stay again!

We didn't expect much of a Sheraton but this one surprised us. The rooms were nice and tidy although you walk right into a bathtub as the bathroom is not separated from the room. However there are screens that you can pull if you want to enclose the bathroom. Once closed though, it is very awkward to get into the bathroom. Aside from privacy concerns with the bathroom, the room was comfortable and large enough and there was a nice balcony with a sofa outside. The only complaint I have was that our room looked onto other rooms of another wing. I have no idea whether they have unobstructed wetlands view but if they had, I imagine it would be a nice view. The Club lounge was nice although the food spread could be a bit more generous. Drinks are kept under lock and key for most the day and you have to ask to get something. On the plus side, they also have an outside balcony for people to enjoy alfresco dining and drinking. Finally, the service while not forthcoming, was responsive once you could communicate with them in English. The luggage was promptly brought up, the taxis were summarily ordered and arrived at the appointed time and there was even ice-cream for Marriott Bonvoy members' children! All in all, a very nice and pleasant experience.
