    • A giant hotel on the 90s

      The size of the hotel is impressive. Far from downtown, has all facilities: indoor swimming pool, fitness center, sauna, steam room, restaurants. Room and bathroom are quite big. However, old fashioned. Bed linen and pillows not at a Sheraton level. Useless to try to control room temperature: the air conditioner makes noise but does not work properly. 25 degrees and I was trying to make it colder: no deal! The hotel deserves a retrofit and modernization.

      Im one of the few foreigners who frequent this place and Ive been coming since they opened. The Chinese staff is always so friendly and amazing, but the unfriendly Germans who manage this place have no eye for details, I go to the hotel to swim and use the gym and for weekend getaways. The steam room has been used as a mop storage closet for two years, and the sauna is all broken up and smells like old cat piss. They advertise specials in the restaurants here, but refuse to honor them. The hot water is really lacking in my room, and the guests still smoke despite it being a non-smoking place. It definitely doesnt live up to hype it once had here.

    • Bad Initial Room Assignment at Sheraton Changchun Jinyuetan Hotel

      I am not too pleased with the initial room assignment at Sheraton Changchun Jinyuetan Hotel during my 5 nights stay (April 24 to Apr 29). As a Titanium Elite member of Marriott, I had my profile stated to "Non-Smoking Room" preferences. To my surprise when I got my room at the eight floor, it was full of cigarette smell with no option to open windows nor turn on air condition. My wife almost got sick after the first night. Luckily we were able to get great help from Kay Wang and Billy Zhang who did their best services to provide a resolution. We were switched to room #721 which seems really a non-smoking room with no cigarette smell and was able to open window to allow the entry of fresh air. We really appreciated the extra effort from Kay and Billy. The initial check-in service at the hotel was not pleasant either. I was at the preferred line during my checking-in. I was cut off by a tour guide asking rooms for her group and the staff did nothing for the intrusion during the check-in process. The staff should have better skills in handling these type of situations. The bell service also did not provide any services at all. They showed no enthusiasm in helping guests with the luggage and pretended not seeing anything while we were exiting from the taxi. Restaurant service was below average and the managers were wandering around and did nothing in greeting with customers. Nor the servers offers any courtesy in serving brewage to customers. Managers seem busy playing with their phones and did nothing in supervising the staff. Only the reception staff (did not get her name, she is wearing glasses) at the restaurant entrance did her job well and treated customers with friendly smile. Moreover, The food quality of the restaurant was pretty good as we saw the chief chef (in black uniform) always monitoring the floor to ensure the food supply is good and sufficient for customers. The executive lounge was at best among the other services from this hotel. Special thanks to Su Hui-Ying, Qin Yuan-yuan and the two other guys at the lounge. The ladies who was doing the dumplings also deserved great credit as they served the food with heart and enthusiasm. The staff at the executive lounge provided excellent services to guests and did hidden jobs in repairing the reputation of the hotel. Sincerely , Charles Law

      I tired from this hotel and their quality poor service. In the room dont work air system and pressure for hot water nothing. Staff dont know English, housekeeper knowledge language better if compare with staff on reception. No discount for any problem. Located outside city, price to much for this type service.

    • Excellent customer service and great hotel

      I stay at this hotel 4 - 5 times a year for a week to 2 weeks at a time. The entire staff is very helpful and assists people with no Chinese language skills very well. Brenda is extremely assisting starting before I arrive, throughout my stays. Rooms are always clean and maintained, food is good and will accommodate special menu items also. Definitely recommend this hotel
