Stayed two nights in an upstairs room with a view of the water. Convenient to getting on the Sky Loop Rd. & was an easy drive back into Clifden. I liked being outside of the bustling little town. Sue offered advice on scenic drives, restaurants & town parking. Breakfast was nicely appointed and several options were offered.

My husband and I stayed at Sharamore House for 3 nights and it could not have been better. Sue is an incredible, multi-talented host with terrific taste. The breakfasts here are gorgeous, with restaurant-quality details. We especially loved the beautiful stewed fruit and all the local fish. The house is full of light, books, and artsome painted by Sue herself! John is a deep sea fisherman, so there's a whimsical fish theme to the decor as well. Both of them were wonderful and gave us helpful advice for exploring Connemara. This B&B is located right on the bay and right next to the breathtaking Sky Road, so you really get the feeling of being in Connemara at the same time that you are just 5 min away from the restaurants and shops of Clifden. I can't imagine a better location.

We stayed for one night touring the West coast. Location is lovely and just 5 minutes drive from Clifden with good restaurants. Our room was large with big bed but our friend's room not so spacious so the rooms are clearly quite different, so check if you want something special. I found the bed and pillow too hard but that's a personal thing. Our host was helpful and knowledgeable and gave us a great recommendation for dinner. The breakfast, as many others have mentioned, is exceptional in variety and quality so this alone makes this B&B worth a stay.

    • Basic accommodation

We booked 2 rooms for a 1 night stay. It ticked the box for providing basic accommodation but we were disappointed with the standard of the accommodation provided after reading great reviews. Our reservation confirmed a king size bed but we received a room with a double bed with very basic mattress and linen. The bathroom was small with a tiny shower and no bath despite a bath being shown in the photos on the website. It was some consolation that the water was hot and the water pressure decent so we could enjoy the shower but would have been helpful to have seen a photo of the bathroom and the small shower on the website as I thought we would receive a bathroom similar to the pic advertised. Neither rooms had views despite the views being highlighted for the property. We were given 1 shower gel and 1 shampoo so for 2 people this isnt really sufficient for 2 showers in the night and morning. No shower gel was provided for the second room which was described as bright and airy but smelled musty and had a blocked shower drain. Only 1 roll of toilet paper was provided. It was sufficient but everywhere Ive travelled over decades all places always provide a second roll in case its needed. A box of tissues in the room could be a simple but extra welcoming touch in a guesthouse. It was an ok place to stay but definitely did not match our expectations from the website and reviews.
