    • Accommodations Fit For Royalty!

This stay was an unexpected pleasure! Lovely room, superb cuisine, comfortable bar, excellent service all ensconced in a moted and converted castle. Not too big, not too small, Goldilocks would move right in! I can highly recommend reserving some time is this conveniently located hotel just in the outskirts of town.

This is a magical little place. It is located in a converted castle surrounded by beautiful gardens and walking trails around farms. The place is quite elegant and the service is excellent. Finally, the food at the property is superb!

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at Hugenpoet. Kids particularly loved the gardens. There is a small outdoor play area too, which the 7 year old loved very much. Our room was spacious and quiet. We all got good sleep here. Our room overlooked the gardens and we truly enjoyed this beautiful view. The staff were helpful and friendly, although I don't think they know the area too well. But they definitely tried to come up with ideas for excursions. Now I can see why some people question whether this is a 5 star hotel. Because, you really can't compare a Grand Hyatt to Hugenpoet. This is a boutique property, not a high volume hotel. We found the breakfast sufficient, but yes, with slow service. We weren't offered anything, and before I came downstairs to breakfast on our first dy, my non German speaking husband and children though there were no hot drinks on offer, no eggs. You need to order these yourself. On day 3 I asked if the kitchen could make pancakes or waffles for the kids to which I got a yes to the pancakes - but only because I asked. I wonder what else is on the menu that we never knew about - why not print out a menu and leave it on the tables or something? But we loved the atmosphere and the remoteness of the hotel, and we would return for sure.

    • Beautiful castle hotel

It is a beautiful castle hotel. The rooms are little outdated specially the bathrooms they need a facelift! Bar restaurant area is pretty dark and should be lighter in my opinion. The drinks and foods are tasty . Price level pretty high. The garden super nice and the terrace has a nice view on the garden. Nice Spot ! .

    • Average and certainly not 5 stars when we were there.

Beautifull locations, nice room, old fashion restaurant and terrace that needs some restoration. I have difficult to tell all the small problems I had when I read the other comments. Im wondering if I was in the same hotel? It looks like the hotel became a business-type of hotel with a group of 30 Asian gentlemen sitting on the first floor to have their dinner and another group of 20 local gentlemen having a dinner outside. We were sitting completely lost between those 2 groups that by the way on top of the airplanes made a lot of noice. Ordering a beer sitting on the upper terrace took me about half an hour because all staff stood inside the bar chatting and nobody was looking at that couple not being part of one of the two groups. Breakfast-buffet was almost empty. We waited 15 minutes to get a cold and overcooked fried egg. They replaced it after another 15 minutes. We had to ask the waiter to get a napkin because not provided. Once I had my egg there was no fork and knife and so on.... At the desk we were unable to pay because the desk-officer had a very long phonecall and thus no time for us and the secondant was not able to make the invoice because the printer was not working. At the end we did not have to pay for the breakfast although we didnt want a free but a 5 star breakfast. Being the last hotel of our German trip we cannot ignore we were a little dissapointed. We are happy to give a 3 stars evaluation because of the nice room and the good bed.
