Reservations: called over a year in advance only to find a month in advance it was messed up. Rooms: quiet, comfortable, more than adequate Amenities: ok, nothing extraordinary Facility: on going construction so connecting may soon be easier but pool and breakfast access required exiting to outside. Views: not from most rooms but we came to be outside Breakfast: standard, far from spectacular Value: Below average

This Resort was like a hidden gem! The friendliness staff Ive ever encountered! I would highly recommend anyone to stay here, and also recommend eating at the restaurant across the street. The waitresses were very nice and polite.

    • Do not expect reliable WIFI or internet connections

Hotel room was comfortable enough. 30 minutes from West Gate entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Breakfast was buffet and attendant kept replenishing the food and cleaned. Unfortunately connecting to WI FI ( free) was virtually impossible. If you managed to do so, it would disconnect after 10 minutes! Connecting to Internet also not reliable. We use Wifi to contact family and to research the following day's journey. We were unable to do this. So if you rely on your wifi to connect your devices, I would not recommend Sawtelle Mountain Resort. Receptionist and another staff member just said, well we are not in a city so what would you expect!!!!! I wanted to connect!!! That is all!!! Also a very small space to fit between the airconditioner and the bed!!! Hurt leg every time!!!! Bed needs moving to the left so a person can fit more easily!

We traveled across the US and back and this was our mid trip stop. We were very excited for Yellowstone and by the pictures this RV park looked like it would feel authentic. Cons- 1. When we booked we chose a 40' pull through for 4 slideouts. We called for another reason but asked what site we would be at when we arrived. We were told spot 4 which on the map and after multiple questions were told it was a back-in spot. This is spot 4 (1-4) on the map. It is a pavement back-in spot in their parking lot. We would have been miserable and extremely upset to have been placed here. Luckily we were switched before arriving. Their website advertises pull-through site. Our site was a "pull through" as long as no one was in the site in front of us. We have no idea how we would have left if someone was in the site across the way. 2. Next to us was the camp host, an older lady, whom on multiple occasions stepped inside our experience. She told us to shorten the cable on our dogs, who always remained well within our site, she told our kids and family member not to ride there bikes in certain areas, to not let our kids walk in the streets etc etc. Granted this isnt much on the resort but most of the guests around us were older and quite cranky. From guests to staff, we did not feel welcomed. 3. We asked the staff where a local river to play in was, the response "I dont know". We asked how long the washer/dryers took the response "I dont know". Is this terrible, no but being in a recreation and tourist area, the staff members should be a little knowledged on typical questions. 4. We read this park was a short drive from West entrance. It is 40 minutes with normal speeds to the entrance and another 15 minutes past the entrance before you reach anything you can stop for. For us, it was too far. 5. Washer/Dryers. Some may not use these but we did on multiple occasions. The washer and dryer are in the indoor pool house where it is pretty humid. They are in a very tiny room with a storage closet, which at the time had a door falling over. One dryer took three cycles to dry a small cycle of clothes. The other dryer did the same size in one cycle. The biggest con- you have to put a code in to get into either door BUT it is still locked from 10pm to morning time. Doesn't make much sense. 5. The pool is indoors and quite small. Understandable with the cold winters but not our style. 6. LAST and worst. Our last full day I was doing laundry and heard a worker of some sorts say the water was super. And needed to be flushed. Not long after someone came to our site at 11am and said they had to disconnect us for a few hours for "a routine flush". This was extremely inconvenient with kids and family needed to flush and wash hands and make food. They disconnected our lines and when we walked over to take a look. They laid our fresh water tank hose ON TOP of the sewer line where water was dumping out. This is disgusting and extremely inconsiderate. They also lied to us about a routine flush. Another camper came to us to tell us to be careful of the water. The rest is rumors that dont need to be shared but they may have had a problem that they werent being honest about. 7. They claim a playground but there are wooden swings with a volleyball net. Not what we had imagined This RV park, for us, with kids and dogs was average. It could be great for older couples and those with small trailers. Pros 1. Some of our family stayed in the hotel. It was almost brand new and very nicely decorated. I cant attest to how to rooms were but they did a nice job with the hotel. 2. There is a gas station and a little food mart across the street which made quick needs taken care of 3. For those planning to ride ATVs and UTVs, it seemed there were many trials right out of the campsite to do this.

Stayed at the new Sawtelle building E I believe. Everything was excellent. Beds, linens and towels we amazing. There are some renovations happening but they didn't interfere with our stay. Breakfast was above average. Only complaint is there is no elevator to get to the second floor. No a big deal for us. A little different in that you have to return your key card or your charged $5 a key. Highly recommended!
