    • Could be a great hotel

Although the hotel is attractive , the rooms are not and the bathroom facilities very poor. Although the staff were willing I am not sure how they would have coped with a full house. There is very little choice in Mysore so its a case of character or the Radisson a business hotel as the best 2 available

We had a lovely 2 night stay in this hotel. First impression was tired and a little bit shabby. Soon changed our mind to relaxed and traditional. We had a room overlooking the restaurant terrace with a nice shady balcony. Took advantage of the small pool, which was nice place to relax after our long flight. The staff looked after us really well . Breakfast was buffet with eggs, waffles etc cooked to order. We ate in the restaurant both nights and was pleasantly surprised with the very reasonable cost.would recommend as a starting place for a South India tour, and of course perfect for a visit to Mysore Palace

    • Mediocre, faded colonial character, with poor service

A long, slow and tedious check-in, with unfriendly staff who initially claimed we had no reservation (of course, we had). Eventually we reached our room, which was not as clean as we should have expected. However, aircon, shower and Wi-Fi all worked. The hotel still displays some of its colonial character, albeit most has disappeared. Some bathroom updates, especially to clean the vast quantities of sealant round the bath, are urgently needed. The location is on a main road, close to hospitals with inevitably frequent ambulance sirens. A room at the back of the hotel is a definite advantage. The pool is just over the wall from the road, so suffers from traffic noise and fumes. There are only five loungers available at the pool, consequently many guests, with nowhere to sit, just walked away, and there was no pool service. How hard can it be to get some more seats? Service in the restaurants was extremely poor. It took 45 minutes for drinks to appear and even then they were not what we had ordered. Food took a similar time, though when it eventually did arrive it was passable. Breakfast was acceptable: a self-service buffet with some international additions. A mediocre hotel which we would not recommend.

Stayed here on our independent road trip through India. It was a truly lovely place with the bygone era feel to it. To say it is an old property It is well maIntained. The rooms were clean and furnished in heritage style. Ju We only ate in the restaurant for breakfast. In the evening restaurant appeared mostly full of travellers on package deals. Breakfasts were good and varied for local and western tourist tastes. Lovely little pool area for a dip after sightseeing. Safe and pleasant walking outside hotel and small local shops nearby. Restaurants auto rickshaw ride away had some lovely meals. Must mention the lovely staff. All of them reception, restaurant, room services and security they were all amazing, a credit to the Royal Orchid brand.

Have just spent 3 days here at the start of a tour of southern India; a wonderful stately feel and interesting building; very atmospheric of its hey day and worth 5; but sadly the service in the restaurant was not up to scratch so get s marked down.
