Nice hotel in Stavelot, Blue Ardennes and relatively close to SPA F1 gates Combes and Blanchimont. Means youll be able to bike to the track gates. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel with spacious rooms and bathroom. The hotel has a sauna and hamam (steam room) with an indoor and outdoor rest area overseeing the valley. Breakfast comes with champaign and nice delicacies. Friendly service in French, German, Flemish. Good hotel if you visit F1 or for a romantic getaway in The Ardennes.

We stayed here for a weekend back in March. Booked the suite in the main house. Nice room spacious but mattress not very good. Food was very good we had almost all our meals there and we enjoyed it a lot. The big issue is that On the first morning we had no hot water no proper explanation given or assistance. This is where they missed the ball for me hot water is essential and even if i understand it was probably behind their control the minimum in hospitality is to face the guest and do something even small as a gesture of goodwill. Here nothing not even an apology from the management .

This hotel is very charming - beautiful interior and very friendly service. We ate at the restaurant on the Saturday night - 4 course chef's menu - which was simply superb. Absolute top quality food. The service between meals was a bit slow, and the portion sizes were quite big (it was difficult to finish it all), but other than that it was one of the best restaurants I've eaten at. The breakfast was also delicious - big selection of delicious food (including champagne which was a great treat!). I think that it's useful to note that there are technically three different parts to the hotel - the actual building where there is reception and restaurant (I think there are about 4 rooms in this section). There is then a separate building which houses the majority of room plus the sauna and steam bath; and then there is a third building known as the Villa which is about 300 metres from the property. I stayed in the second building, and I have to admit that my room was not very inspiring (quite small and plain) and I could hear the cars from the main road which impeded my sleep. If you are a light sleeper, then it is be good to be aware of this. My partner is a heavy sleeper and it did not bother him. I was expecting the property to be a bit more remote (with more of an 'estate vibe'), so it was a bit unfortunate that we were located so close to a main road. If the cars from the main road did not affect my sleep, and if the rooms were a bit nicer, I would have given this hotel 5 stars. It is entirely possible that a different room might've given me a better experience so it is definitely worth enquiring about this if you are looking at staying here. Overall, top quality hotel with a highly recommended restaurant!!

My wife and I wanted to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary in the Belgian Ardennes. We settled on the Romantik Hotel Le Val d'Ambleve in Stavelot and it exceeded all expectations. On arrival at the hotel we received the warmest of welcomes from Lars and Karin Roxs who run Le Val on behalf of his parents. I'd requested a quiet room and No. 20 on the first floor of the modern annexe was just that. It had an extremely comfortable, large double bed and a capacious en suite bathroom with bath and and shower. Upstairs in the annexe I enjoyed the sauna and steam rooms with both indoor and outdoor relaxation areas. In the main house is an extremely comfortable bar area and a blissfully uncluttered dining room which overlooks the well-tended gardens and offers a perfect ambiance for both dinner and breakfast. Made with fresh local ingredients the food at dinner was always delicious and importantly was served by friendly staff who spoke good English. Breakfasts offered a wide range of juices, fruits, cereals, cold meats, smoked salmon and of course scrambled eggs. You can even have a glass of bubbly if the mood takes you! What makes Le Val d'Ambleve a class apart from hotels of its type is the superb customer service which makes you feel genuinely welcome. The fact Karin managed to locate my mobile phone, which I'd carelessly left at the War Museum in Bastogne, was a prime example. And two complimentary glasses of champagne on our actual anniversary day topped it all off. Cheers!
