Awesome location, walking distance from the East Gate of the Sapporo main station and all the sights in town. Bonus that there is an entrance to the underground walkways right outside the hotel, which is very handy on days with inclement weather.

I recently stayed one night here. Richmond Hotel Sapporo Ekimae is near the station and is a short walk from the JR station and even closer from exit 22 of the tube station (Sapporo, Toho Line). Front desk staff were courteous and efficient. I arrived in Sapporo in the morning with luggage which the staff took and my luggage was in my room after I checked in. The izakaya restaurant on the 1st floor serves good food at reasonable prices and has an all-you-can-drink plan for under 1,000.

Stayed here for 3 days for business trip. The location is near the JR station which will take us to Domestic Airport. The location and value for money is superb! Also the staff are very accommodating and nice. I need to do printing and they gave the first 10 pages for free. Will definitely come back and recommend.

    • Smoking restaurant a huge problem

The room was very warm but you can open the window to get fresh air in. The rooms are small.. the double bed being right up against the wall and with 2 day packs and 2 roller bags it is not easy to manoeuvre around. Bathroom well stocked with razors, comb etc and mouthwash available from the front desk. However, there is a reason why you are provided fabreze in your room and that is because the restaurant smells of tobacco. Breakfast wasnt bad as no one was smoking but the smell lingered. We ate in and the second night, three people next to us were smoking as were the ones across from us. Absolutely unhygienic and a throw back to the 1970s. I had sinus problems as a result. The irony in is you cant smoke in most public places . smoking rooms are everywhere except here. The location is good but until they sort out the smoking policy in the restaurant I would not recommend staying here unless you are happy to smell of cigarette smoke.

    • Good location for snow festival but thats it

This is a very average hotel, small rooms, few facilities, but is just a couple of blocks up from the snow festival site. The Toho subway line and interconnected walkways are a couple of yards away so very convenient. Breakfast is served in the restaurant attached to the hotel and offers a pretty bizarre mix of dishes, and you can book there for your evening meal if you dont fancy wandering out. Big gripe is that they allow smoking in the restaurant which really surprised us. Why you wander around in a face mask all day and then suck up a load of passive carcinogens beggars belief. Id also book as far as you can from the smoking floors as they really do stink. This was our third Richmond Hotel of the trip and definitely the worst.
