    • Beautiful Riad with the friendliest staff

      Reviewed 27 September 2019

We came for a two day visit, which is all you need in this place of respite. I highly recommend this Riad. The staff all seem so happy and are delighted to serve you. We were greeted with enthusiasm and provided a orientation of places to see. The room was very nice. The roof top deck is where you can relax and listen to the waves hit the shore with a glass of wine watching the sunset or enjoy a tasty breakfast, which is served every morning. A marvelous way to start off your day. The owner is a genuinely nice man who enjoys meeting his guests. Beds are comfortable. Showers are nice, although weak water pressure. That shouldnt stop you from booking this Riad. Location is good. We would certainly stay there again for sure. B. Wilcher

What a great place to stay! A beautiful quiet hotel on the edge of the Medina. Staff was great. The owner, Petron personally greeted us and showed us around, he even let me beat him in backgammon. Room was immaculate and the dinner we ate there was great. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

    • Didn't Want to Leave... so stayed an extra 3 days!

Beautiful Riad with spectacular views of the ocean! The staff was so friendly and engaging which made me feel that I'd known them for years. The owner, Ernest, treats everyone like they are guests in his home... very hospitable, helpful and fun to talk to. The Riad is located within old Essaouira Medina and is walking distance to restaurants, the ocean, the souks, etc. However, when you're inside the riad it is quiet and serene.

    • Beautiful riad for those looking for peace

This is a beautiful riad. Nice decor. Clean. Super friendly staff. Safe. The owner from Switzerland was adorable and personally came to say hello. Nice to hear the breeze and sea. Reason for a 4 as opposed to a 5, is that the riad felt souless and isolated. Lacked atmosphere. It was located towards the back of the medina in a quiet street. Still central but also a bit far out. Also when checking in, although I came before check in time, they were super nice and gave me the room. However, it was being cleaned and then I got the room, the remains of the previous guests number 2 in the toilet was gross! I would rather they have been honest and told me to wait or leave my bags and clean the toilet. Seeing the remains of someone else's toilet waste was not nice. There is nothing wrong with the riad if you want something quiet and to hear the sea. I personally preferred the other riad I was staying in as it was closer to the centre and more atmospheric.

    • An incredible ocean view!

My wife and I stayed here two nights on our honeymoon. Giselle greeted us and gave us a map and showed us where to go to see various sights in the town. We had an ocean view room, and cannot emphasize how gorgeous it is to watch the sunset from your bed while the sound of the waves - and the Essaouira breeze - comes through the window. Ernest kept us laughing during our rooftop breakfast both mornings. We did not eat any other meals at the hotel but our accommodations were great. We also got a hammam and massage from the hotel spa, which was quite relaxing. We were sad to leave, Essaouira is a very special place. Thank you to Ernest and Giselle for a great stay. p.s. - sorry again about the ice! :)
