We arrived at Riad Al Zahia, after a week and a half traveling around Morocco, having stayed at similarly priced riads. The manager who checked us in spoke no English, not a deal breaker (I guess I really should get around to learning another language), but this was the only place that we encountered where the manager didnt speak a single word. We checked in and went to our suite - we got the room featured in most of the photos with the ornate headboard looking setup. It was on the top floor (3rd), which gave it some privacy, but it was also very hot. Despite claiming to have A/C, there was none. We attempted to connect to the WiFi, but the signal didnt make it to the 3rd floor (for any device we tried). I tried to take a shower, but there was no water pressure, just a sad hot dribble. The location is really quite good, right in the Mdina, a lot of the painted metal railings you see in the pictures are actually rusted, due to the salty sea breeze. Would I go back to this riad? No. Would I recommend it to someone else? Probably not.

The Riad was recommended by a regular visitor. We had a suite for a family of 5 for 5 nights. The breakfast was consistently lovely with plenty of choice. The staff were really friendly throughout. Our room was a bit tired looking but perfectly adequate. The riad is in a great location,a couple of minutes away from the medina and square. Beds were very comfy and we enjoyed our stay.

The staff are all really friendly and super nice, sweet and helpful. Every single one. This riad is about location. Just off a quiet street and walkable, central to all of the medina. Beautiful. Very clean. Lovely spacious and big room. Room service and cleaning good. Great decor and vibe. Wifi generally fast, went a few times but very good otherwise. Free small bottle of water. There is no fan or air con so I feared the room might get hot at night but it was fine as the riad has an open roof so just keep your windows open. They take cash or card to pay the bill. You can have drinks there if you want. The roof terrace is beautiful and peaceful in the morning. Let the shower run for a few minutes as it takes one or two minutes to get warm. Then it gets very hot. Great shower. Ask for a free map. Main negatives is breakfast compared to other riads was not great and very stingy. Not at all like the photos here. Was not great and very basic. Moroccan breakfasts are normally plentiful and delicious. Other guests could be very noisy at night. This is not the riads fault but they should maybe put a sign up. They will give you a spare key so when you go out and come back late, you can open a side door yourself to come and go which is useful. However, there was always someone there even when we came late. The room needs a bin in the room. There is one in the bathroom but another one in the room would be good. There is no swimming pool but this was fine for me. I wanted somewhere clean and central and this was perfect. I was out exploring all the time and this was lovely to come back to. Would have given a 5 if not for the breakfast. Would highly recommend otherwise.

Absolutely recommend this place. Good location in the middle of the medina but still quiet, good breakfast and very friendly and helpful people working here. Really enjoyed our stay in this Riad. From the rooftop you have an awesome view of the medina and the sea.

My fianc and I stayed for 2 nights at Riad Al Zahia and loved our stay! The Riad is easy to find and very welcoming staff. Our room was Leila on the first floor and very comfortable bed, hot shower, lovely quiet room. The rooftop terrace is lovely and a really nice place to relax in the sunshine. Breakfast up there was tasty and included eggs, juice, pancakes and fruit. Riad Al Zahia is perfectly located in the Mdina, a short walk to everything you might want to see. The staff were very helpful in recommending great places to eat. Only minor thing was that WiFi didnt work for one day but it was raining all day so perhaps that interrupted the service. Overall a great stay and would definitely recommend Riad Al Zahia!
