      My husband and I were here over the weekend, and as a previous poster mentioned, this Residence Inn was not up to the usual Marriott standards we are accustomed to. The bed was in dire need of being replaced, we tossed and turned all night digging ourselves out of the center of the sagging mattress. Also, the bedskirts were not attached to anything but rather tucked under the mattresses (see photo). The closet door mirror was cracked across the bottom and posed a great risk for anyone if and when it shattered. The entire room was in need of a complete refurbishment. The real icing on the cake came as we were loading up our car to head home. It was before 7 am and we had the car door open on the drivers side as we were loading our car in a space that was close to the entrance of the hotel. We were then startled by a loud car horn honking at us... we looked over and a car was trying to get into the space next to us, we told the lady in the blue Saturn SUV that we would just be a moment... she then hollers to us I need to get in before breakfast! I work here! Needless to say we were speechless. Customer service was NON EXISTENT at this place! And what happened to employees parking further away from the buildings so that the GUESTS Amat have places to park?? Inexcusable.

      This hotel severely inconvenienced me and my family, including 2 toddlers and dog, the night of our scheduled check-in. I booked this hotel on 6/5/19 for 8/15/19 and their excuse was it was overbooked. You mean to tell me your staff or managers didnt realize they were overbooked until the day of with all this advanced technology? Give me a break. Then to make matters worse they put us up around the corner in another hotel that was dirty, AC barely worked and in a room that cannot accommodate my family. Family of 4 including 2 toddlers and a dog and we end up in a tiny room with 2 twin beds. This is completely unacceptable and I will never stay at this hotel again. Plenty of other hotels to stay at in this area, I suggest you look elsewhere before spending money at this location.

      I gave this hotel a 2-star because of issues that I encountered and was told I would receive points for my inconvenience. 3 months later, no call or points have been received. I took my Girl Scout troop on a trip to Virginia Beach. I purposely booked in Chesapeake because I love the area and we would still be able to get ro the activities that were being held on the oceanfront for Girl Scouts. I normally book at Springhill Suites when in the area but the girls wanted to try Residence Inn and since I have had many wonderful experiences at Residence Inn when traveling with my family, I agreed to stay here. The check-in process went smoothly and had no problems. However once we arrived in our room there were a few issues. The initial issue was with the door into our room. It would not close unless you pushed it closed. Initially we did not find that to be a problem until two of the girls were trying to get out of the room and an adult had to help them open the door because they could not between the two of them exert enough force to open the door. Issue Number 2 was the bathroom door. Another door that would not close unless you slammed it. One of the girls was stuck inside of the bathroom due to the fact that after taking her shower the moisture was on the door handle and she could not get a strong enough grip to pull it and again one of the adults had to help get her out by pushing it so that it would open. Issue Number 3 was the pool. Technically it was the bottom of the pool. I scraped my foot along with a couple of the girls getting cuts on the bottom of their feet so we were unable to enjoy the pool. These issues were relayed to the front desk upon our departure and I was told that a manager would call because points to be awarded for our inconvenience. I have yet to hear from a manager or receive points for the issues that we encountered.

      I am relocating to Virginia Beach for work an there was 27 days between when I moved here and when my apartment would be done renovated. Ive been at the Marriott Residence Greenbrier in Chesapeake for 2 weeks now. Several issues!! The common areas in the hotel are really really hot. Management said they need to have an AC replaced. We only have our room cleaned once a week and there is still food on the floor since the day we moved in. Im not sure what this is in the curtain. The cleanliness of this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Manage NYUs a bit dismissive and no chalant about these issues. They did send house keeping up today to finally try and clean which is ridiculous. One bedroom was cleaned today and the other one wasnt. Im over it!! Needless to say I will not be able to stick it out for 2 more weeks. I go to work and come home. I hate complaining but this is NOT OK. I have contacted my corporate relo company for another temp living option.

      Room was really dirty; white stains on the armrest of the sofa, doors full of old fingerprints and stains, Tim foil and food remains under the fridge etc. Pointed out this to the front desk several times but without any result. House keeping also left the door hatch between the door and the door frame so when coming back in the afternoon my door was open for everyone to enter... Not up to Marriott standards and especially not up to the high rate.
