    • Comfortable rooms, good spa, awesome breakfast...

Positives - Comfortable rooms, good spa (open till almost 1am), awesome breakfast, good service. Needs help - English skills of staff are poor, AC doesn't work as well in all the rooms, room service food takes forever to reach.

We stayed for 2 nites and the front office misissued our key just for one nite. We got back on second day around 11 pm after visiting Huangguoshu waterfalls. My key and clients doesnt work properly due to missdate. I called to front office and they need us to tell them passport number. What a joke. I have been staying in many hotels around the world and this is the only hotel asked for passport number. Why don't you asked housekeeping to open the door since my clients are waiting in front of their rooms @ 11 pm. The guy insists we have to come down and to show our passport. Location is not convenience. Room is quite ok. Service is terribe. Pretty bad.

    • Lovely hotel, with a few issues

      Reviewed 15 June 2019

The hotel is lovely, the rooms are beautifully appointed and comfortable. The staff are for the most part helpful and pleasant. However the buffet dinner is considerably overpriced for what was on offer, and the chef manning the grill for freshly cooked steaks etc can only be described as downright rude. The breakfast buffet was similarly disappointing, with not all dishes ready when breakfast starts. It is a well placed and appointed hotel, but some of the food service needs to be revisited.

    • Top notch customer services make all the different in the world

We love this hotel, the staff make it magical. Special kudos to Lacrimosa Wang for going extra miles for us. Even before we checked-in she helped us with the arrangements for our trips to Libo and Xijiang from transportation to itinerary to accommodation recommendation. She stayed after her shift ended to ensure during our arrival we would feel welcomed and have a speedy check-in. The attention to detail for everything she does is amazing. During our stayed, we celebrated my mom's birthday at the New Dinasty Restaurant and she ensured we had a blast while letting the kitchen staffs know my mom's food preference. A truly home away from home experience. Highly recommended!

    • Overall a beautiful place to stay

So let's get the cons right out of the way- the air conditioning takes forEVER to kick in. It took about a good 12 hours to lower the room temperature a degree. The shower door doesn't fully close so water ends up getting all over the floor if you use the rainfall option. The beds are relatively hard, booking a massage was fairly complicated, exchanging money took 20 minutes, and the taxi driver the hotel called for us drove like a madman and our seatbelts didn't work. that that's out of the way- the pros! The views were beautiful. I love how you can see the city and natural landscape bending together. The rooftop bars also had incredible views and outdoor seating. You could tell parts of the hotel were worn, including the stained carpets in the bar, but that and the constant empty hand soap in the bathroom weren't a huge issue. The drinks did take awhile to be brought so we started ordering them two at a time haha The staff was very helpful and always eager to make sure guests were happy. The breakfast Buffett was extensive! Western and asian options were put out and there were tons of fresh fruit and juices available. It could get pretty crowded but we would go right when it opened and have a fresh pick of everything. I got room service several times because the dinner dining options seemed limited and it turns out, room service was a perfect substitute. Always on time, delicious, and affordable. The city of Guiyang was beautiful at night- the whole place would light up. Hard to believe it's only a little over a 10-year-old city. I know it isn't a main tourist destination but Guiyang was the highlight of my trip :) Oh and I must add, the hotel lobby is BEAUTIFUL and elegant.
