    • Great mountain views

The room was clean and comfortable and compact. However the bathroom was a good size. Check-in wasn't the best. There was no-one in attendance and we had to search for a small note that told you what to do in that instance.

    • Terrible is an understatement!

DO NOT BOOK THIS lodge I use that term loosely because I have stayed in better hostels! I booked for two nights and left after one. This place is supposed to be a 5 star luxury lodge with all these wonderful amenities....but none of them work! Pool unserviced Tennis courts covered in weeds Spa and sauna door locked our entire stay (when we asked staff to access they said unfortunately the day before a guest broke the spa...we have been here two days there was no guest using it the day before) Continental breakfast consisted of stale bread and cereals that are constantly left out the whole time Breakfast condiments have been left on the table for two and half days unrefrigerated At communal breakfast all guests are asked to pile their dirty dishes on a dinning table in another room There was a staff member with a sleeping bag sleeping in the guest lounge from 7am (when all guests are at breakfast) and was still sleeping there at 1030am Carparking area applauding Visible bags of rubbish along side of accommodation I was wondering why the restaurant/dinning area was not functioning...looks like somebody has turned it into a gym instead (I believe this would violate health codes) My advice is do not book here, or if you have already cancel and get a refund.

    • Overpriced and neglected!

      Reviewed 21 July 2019

We came to the Remarkables lodge for our final night before flying home to Australia. We were expecting (and paid for!) a luxurious night of sitting in front of the fire, enjoying the spa and enjoying a lodge style breakfast before our flight. Instead we arrived at a neglected, empty lodge with none of the advertised amenities, a terrible breakfast and unfriendly staff. This has obviously been a nice place to stay at some point - but now it appears to be on the brink of closing down and totally neglected. Save your money and do not stay here!

Ok place, 10 min drive from Queenstown. Our room was not made up even after we left a note..Breakfast is pretty basic..not a great value for money considering you have to drive 10-15 mins. Must have seen a better days..

    • Not at all an exclusive lodge!

      Reviewed 08 April 2019

We stayed one night on 7 April 2019. We enjoyed the large, clean room and VERY comfortable bed. When we arrived no one was there despite still being office hours. Nor was anyone at reception when we left. The pleasant lady we did eventually meet was very helpful and professional, although quite nervous. Breakfast was very plain and underwhelming. And Oreo cookies?!? The grounds were scruffy and the pool had been broken for two years! However, for the price it was overall ok. BUT the claim on the website was out of sync with reality. The Lodge is not exclusive, one of NZs best retreats, or luxury.
