I miss the old hotel. Seems like the attention to the guest is being outweighed by progress. I must decrease my rating this time from excellent to average. The breakfast is still very good. The dinner service still needs improvement.

Dirty, worn down SPA and absence of hygiene. This Hotel is on a 1 star level and we left just after a day staying there. We had to argue with the staff about their really awful worn down SPA. Can't imagine that somebody gives high rates - just need to look around - the ceiling comes down, there are algae around the Jaccuci which gives an idea of the water quality - and the whole facility shows strong signs of lack of maintenance. We put it on a 1 star Hotel, and won't never in our lives come back. What was supposed to be a nice weekend stay turned out to be a horrible stressful time. We had to book somewhere else and left as quickly as we could.

The hotel is nicely located. Very close to the city center, but quiet. The rooms are big and spatious, as the bathroom is. Breakfast is really good and the service is polite. The only thing which is a bit unconvenient is the fact that the hotel is dvivided into a couple of buildings so you can end up on the opposite side of the reception and the restaurant. All in all a good stay.

We stayed here for 3 nights - August 1st until August 4th. Check in was supposed to be 3pm, we arrived at 1pm & were allowed to check in straight away. Check out is 11am. It is a lovely hotel in a quiet area, right by the Seine. The rooms were comfy, lovely & clean! Breakfast was on 7am-10am consisting of croissants, toast, fresh fruit, eggs, meats etc. The evening restaurant & bar were closed due to refurbishment. But there are a few nice restaurant a short walk along the Seine, theres a lovely outdoor dining area with French & Italian food & bars. The staff were lovely & extremely helpful, helping us to order a takeaway one night as we cannot speak French. The spa is lovely & clean :) It is a 20 minute drive to central Paris, which is easy to find following signs or satnav.

    • Most expnsive hotel of trip and most disappointing

Room was nice, but very small, too small for money spent, way too small. When we went to the front desk they said we could get another room, but as it was way more expensive than our already expensive room and because we were dog tired, we decided to tough it out. In fact, they offered to let us go to another hotel, but it was simply impossible, at that point. We were so tired we thought of ordering room service instead of going out to a good restaurant, but the menu was tres expensif, limited and unappetizing to me. We finally acquiesced to eating at their restaurant, which was also expensive, but had more choices and at least I did not have to eat on my bed. The food was good, but the real star of the show was the bread and his partner in crime, the butter. This may have been the best bread I ever had and the butter was the best. I am a breadaholic and I was in nirvana. I ate so much the waitresses were chuckling. I even asked for some to take back to the room and of course, more butter. If I were ever to go back to this hotel it would only be for the bread and the butter. One other thing - this hotel is only really for rich people, expensively dressed and coiffed and just a tad snooty, well, maybe more than a tad. Worse part is that the only reason I stayed there was to be near Malmaison, Napoleon and Josephine's house, later just Josephine's after he dumped her and that was a total dud. Not much to see.
