    • Good location

      Reviewed 03 September 2019

The hotel is right beside the lake. The room is small, with unstable internet. The room is quite cozy. Maybe because the hotel is old so the soundproof is not really that good. But overall, it was acceptable for short stay.

    • Great View, Frustrating Stay Experience Not For Business Travelers

      Reviewed 02 September 2019

While the view of Lake Llanhuique and the Osorno Volcano is admittedly spectacular, this rustic inn in the Chilean Lake District town of Puerto Varas is the business traveler unfriendly twin of the Manchester Mystery House in California, staffed by generally unfriendly and unsmiling staff, with the exception of Stefan, the evening front desk staff who was pleasant and helpful. The hotel is in reality a mismatch of several buildings strung together but with no coherence or strategy. In some cases to get to other parts of the hotel, one must exit and renter a different wing. Stairs and hallways often lead nowhere or to dead ends, and the so-called spa and fitness center consists of two machines, a scuzzy pool that produces suds and foam, and a sauna which is pretty much a closet with a wooden door and metal door handle that will burn your hand as you try to exit. The breakfast buffet is grossly substandard, the menu overpriced, and the wait staff surly, oblivious, and unresponsive. Finally, the rooms are two-star motel quality, with no desk or writing table, two inconveniently located electrical outlets, poor lighting, and unreliable and virtually nonexistent WiFi. They also have restrictions and fine print and phantom charges for everything, especially early checkout, so check your final bill carefully.

    • What a fantastic hotel

      Reviewed 26 July 2019

I stayed here with my adult daughter and we both loved it. The view across the lake to the Osorno Vulcano from our huge, comfortable room was breathtaking. The staff were all helpful, the breakfast generous and delicious and the beauty of the communal rooms was outstanding. We loved sitting in the large living room in front of the roaring fire reading our books and sipping a Pisco Sour. The old photos and artifacts were also fascinating. We can't wait to come back.

    • How much did we pay for this room?

      Reviewed 26 April 2019

That's the first thing I said when we walked in. We booked a basic room for a one night stay - we were upgraded to a two bedroom suite with a sitting room, a spacious bathroom with a jacuzzi and separate shower for the same money. We had an excellent late dinner in the restaurant. An outstanding breakfast was included in the room rate. We were also pleased that the desk clerk pleasantly checked us in ahead of a tour group that tried to push ahead of us. We wished we had booked a longer stay.

    • Comfortable hotel very close to downtown.

      Reviewed 22 April 2019

Pros: Fantastic bed very comfortable and large. Great view looking over the lake. Strong Wi-Fi. Located very close to downtown Puerto Varas and all the shopping, tours and restaurant you need. Staff was pleasant - bartender was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good and the view was grand. Cons: Water pressure and hot water was a bit lacking in the shower. In case you want to sleep past 8AM, be aware that tour groups congregate below the windows for several of the lakeside rooms and they are not so sound proof.
