    • Great resort, BUT stay away from the Scuba diving place!!

This resort is at an amazing location, with great access to the beach and views of the sunrise from the breakfast buffet. - There are hammocks at the front of the resort and the paths leading to the rooms are well paved, with beautiful trees around. - The rooms are a little basic but the washroom / dressing area was one of the best from our time in Thailand because of the amazing layout and space provided for all your luggage and clothes etc, and also a very spacious rain shower. - This resort uses an app where you can find answers to many of your questions (this however annoyingly leads to some of the staff pointing you to the app instead of simply answering your question) and also book activities and services etc. PROS: - They arranged an amazing, private dinner for us on the beach for our anniversary and the staff was super friendly and courteous! - We booked a private long tail boat for a full day, and not only was the captain, Rosa, super accommodating and friendly, but also we were able to get a lunch box packed from the restaurant for the day! We had requested a vegetarian meal and the food was delicious! - We had dinner at the Thai restaurant on the property (Ruan Thai?) and the meal and location were both simply exquisite! One of the staff members was playing live music on a Khim and it was probably the most appropriate music for that setting, very sweet and mesmerizing! The restaurant also picked us up and dropped us off right to our room in a golf cart! CONS: - We booked the Beginners Instructional Scuba Diving class with the resort and had explicitly told them that we do not know how to swim and asked multiple times if we would still be able to do it and we were told yes, that wouldnt be a problem at all. Well fast forward to the point when we are on the boat with the gear and the staff has strapped the cylinder etc to us and tell us how to inflate and deflate the vest to go up and down. They put the mask on us, and the next thing we know, instead of the boat moving to shallower waters and us getting some lessons and maybe slowly stepping down a ladder, the instructor (the only guy on the boat that speaks decent English) jumps into 10m deep water and then we are being told by the remaining staff to just jump off the boat!! We were not prepared for that at all! After being told its okay, just jump over and over again, I finally jumped in and immediately swallowed some salt water and my body started twisting and turning with my head under water! In the panic my body was trying to breathe through my nose which made things worse! After finally being helped by the instructor to be in a semi stable position, we had to force the instructor to let us go close to the boat so we may hold onto the ladder so we can stop panicking. Again the non-English speaking staff kept forcing us to let go of the ladder and just do like in swimming pool except that we dont swim! The whole experience was a nightmare and I am just glad that we made it out alive! There was zero training and even less compassion from the staff.

We had high hopes for this hotel as it was the first stop of our Thailand travels for our honeymoon. Firstly, Phuket immigration is a JOKE. Please bear this in mind if you are flying from outside of Thailand (we flew in from Singapore) we queued for 2 hours and consequently missed our speedboat we had booked with the hotel. Tip to the manager - please inform people of how bad it is!!! If you miss the 11am speedboat the next one is at 4pm! However after me phoning to explain we were going to be late (and them not finding a record of our booking - more on that later) they chartered another boat for us which was fab. So after our van meeting us at Arrivals we hopped into the speedboat which took about 1 hour. A frosty beer would have been appreciated considering how much the boat had cost but Fanta was all they had. When we arrived we were greeted by the staff singing and playing guitar for us in a Hawaii style. Nice but last time I checked this was Thailand. Then we were told to take a seat and a mocktail Pina Colada and cold towel was brought over. Then we were kept waiting for someone to come over and check us in. After 30 mins a girl came over and said they could not find our booking. Thankfully I had confirmation but this is not what you need on your honeymoon when youre exhausted and hot. 1 hour later (yes really) they found our booking and took us to our room. The complex is gigantic and you need a buggy to get anywhere. Sign posts are also terrible and I got lost many times. When we arrived at our room there was no honeymoon welcome, no card, nothing. We had booked one of the Superior Bungalows and it was awful and small, dark. Now bearing in mind this hotel was not cheap I was not happy. I complained to the manager and said that the rooms are not what I was expecting and we hadnt even had an apology for our awful check-in. She agreed and kindly offered to upgrade us for free to one of the Deluxe Bungalows with Garden view and low and behold a Happy Honeymoon note in flowers was on the bed. The room was much much better and spacious plus the gardens are stunning - we had a huge monitor lizard outside one day so expect lots of wildlife. We were really happy with everything. There are 2 pools in the resort. One is massive and lively and the other is small and quiet. The small one is right by breakfast but the lively one was near to our room. There is a lovely view of the beach at both and you can order food and drinks at both. Now then. Food and drink prices at this place are quite frankly a joke. Dont believe the we have to import everything thats why it is expensive this is nonsense. Nowhere else in Phi Phi charges this, if you go into town outside of the resort you will see how much this hotel rips you off. Oh and they whack on 10% service on everything which is why I believe some of the staff are rude and unhelpful. Some of their English is also horrendous. Not good for a 4 star hotel. The boat trips are massively overpriced too. The only advantage to booking through the hotel is convenience and they know this. Having said that, highly recommend the Phi Phi Islands boat trip. We had booked half board (it was literally 20 quid extra) so we got brekkie and dinner at either the Thai or Beach restaurant. Highly recommend breakfast as there was lots of choice including vegan. However my husband took his cup of coffee to the pool one morning and was literally chased by the manager until3 gave it back. Dinner in the evening was hit and miss Also when they find out you are half board you can only order from the set menu and vegetarian options are limited. Having said that on our last night we had such an amazing meal at the Beach Restaurant it was fantastic. But if you go into town down the road you can have a much better and cheaper meal. You will also see how some of the local Thais live :( I had a massage in the spa once and it was ok not amazing for the price and she was quite pushy to get me to book again. Entertainment is awful. A Filipino band play each night and they are like a karaoke trio and not what you want when enjoying happy hour. We also got a boat over to Tonsai at one point for a night out watching Thai boxing which was fab and we did some shopping/massages. And we walked up to the Viewpoint which was stunning (although hard in 35 degrees.) One last thing to mention, we left our passports in the safe when we went to Phuket and the hotel kindly dropped them off to us for free which was incredibly kind. All in all, this is a nice enough hotel but as it is huge you feel a bit like you are trapped. They are also ripping guests off big time and its not fair at all. In hindsight we stayed too long (6 nights) I would suggest 2-3 max. Staff need some training on customer care also. Good points are that they did upgrade us, breakfast is good, pools and beach are stunning and rooms cleaned well. Beds comfy too.

First of all , the staff speak almost no english including reception, in a 4 star hotel we were picked up in a tractor from the sea and no bridge as tide is down every morning. the prices are more expensive than maldives and for what, poor choices for food and service isnt best either. the enteraiment was the worst, nothing to do but listen to the same girls sing every night which i must say i could do better. wouldnt recommend coming here and defienatly wont be coming back .

The bungalows are beautiful. The pools are the most gorgeous we have been in. You cannot beat the location. Breakfast was delicious with so many fresh options. We did the dining option and were not disappointed. Everyone was lovely and kind. Highly recommend :)

    • Beautiful location, that's about it...

The resort is located on a beautiful private beach with close proximity to many of the Islands around phi phi which is great. However for a supposedly 5 star hotel this property is full of issues. Our first room was infested with ants which got into our clothes and turned our night into a nightmare. The second room was better but still nothing special or amazing about the rooms to justify the much higher price compared to other properties. Except like I said the location, if you are comfortable paying for an amazing location with no high expectations from the hotel itself then give it a shot.
