BIG Disappointment & False Advertisement. We didn't even use the attached restroom, FUNKY SMELL, there was no hand soap. The place is OLD and OUT-DATED. The pictures posted by Peninsula Island are photo-shopped or very old! They look wonderful but in reality, the place IS NOT!!! Upon arrive we parked at the hotel parking lot, walk a distance to even find the office until we found a small signs that directed us to the front office. The overall appearance of the outside of the resort is WORN-OUT. Chipping paint and stucco on the outside walls, gravel luggage drop off area, poorly replaced pool tiles, poorly painted hallways, dingy hallways, and old beach lounge chairs are just a few negatives. The outside facade is crumbling, so that was kind-of disheartening. The pool was okay, but it looked like it had seen better days. (another disappointment), no carts to bring our luggage to the room. The elevator was another disappointment. Could not feel the AC Air, plus it smell FUNKY. The pool looked old and the tiles around the pool were broken. If youre not careful you can cut yourself on the broken tiles. The (3) desk clerks were not too helpful either and seemed confuse, when we requested information or assistance, they looked at each other, and neither one of them wanted to call the owner/manager to the front office to hear our complaint. We checked-in and out (there 2 hours) DID NOT STAY. NO REFUND BACK ... Not EVEN AN APOLOGY! They BUNCH OF CROOKS, STAY AWAY!!!

Peninsula is in a prime spot, but it has not been taken care of, or the owners have simply not invested in upkeep for the ongoing needs of an ocean-side facility. When we arrived, it was not even clear where the office was. We finally saw a teeny-size sign and then further small signs that directed us. The outside facade is crumbling, so that was kinda disheartening. The pool looked nice, but it too looked like it had seen better days. My room was actually very clean, so I have to hand it to housekeeping. One of my colleagues reported chasing a roach in her room - ugh! I know other reviews have criticized the bedding, but I had no complaints there. My room was probably the best part of the stay at the hotel. I was actually meeting colleagues for a working retreat, and we were supposed to have a conference room. Over and over again, the desk staff was very unhelpful when we requested information or assistance with the room. (Incidentally, there was only ONE conference room, so I would not consider them to have "conference facilities.") There was unwrapped furniture stacked in one corner, which was weird. In every other hotel I've stayed in, staff at least ensured we had a pitcher of ice water and glasses for the day. We had nothing at all! We didn't even use the attached restroom as there was no handsoap, so we all just used a nearby guest room of one of our group. On our second day, we asked a passing housekeeping staff member, and she took care of the soap. Additionally, our trash was not emptied at all during this time. Sorry, we will not return to the Peninsula.

This was a sad experience, a once beautiful hotel rotting from lack of care. Dirty bedding and tubs. This used to be a resort but the owners are not keeping up with basic repairs. In the daylight you can see stucco chipping away. Tile in the pool is sharp where you can sit or lean, quite hazardous actually. Tvs dont work. Staff doesnt care. Only the front desk saves you from a hellish experience, they were super nice and apologetic.

The overall appearance of the outside of the resort is worn out. Chipping paint and stucco on the outside walls, gravel luggage drop off area, poorly replaced pool tiles, poorly painted hallways, dingy hallways, and old beach lounge chairs are just a few negatives. Regular maintenance and a little TLC could shape this place up nicely! Our room was recently remodeled and was adequate. I think because of the humidity on the island, everything felt damp, including the bed. The air in the room worked perfectly. The food in the restaurant was good and the staff in the restaurant were super friendly. When I go on a vacation and spend a lot of $$, I want the whole package. I want my surroundings in all areas to be and look clean and fresh. Unfortunately, this place missed the mark. **The pic of the pool from my room looks great, and it was a nice pool, but some little tiles needed to be replaced properly. The swim up bar was nothing like I expected. Hire someone to paint a pretty mural on the wall to make it look appealing.
