    • Could use some updating

      Reviewed 23 June 2019

While the location is 5 Star, our "suite" was very dated and nothing really "went together". The king bed is in the living room area along with several old, mis-matched couches & an old coffee table is what you enter the front door - along with an old, musty odor. The kitchen, while freshly painted lacks enough glassware, etc for the number of guest supposedly this suite accommodates. The other bedroom has the only closet & has a twin bed & full/queen in a 10'x11' space. One teeny, tiny bathroom, no vanity for personal items. No toiletries at all other than a chip of bath soap, only 1 roll of toilet paper, no coffee to at least start off your 1st morning, no hair dryer - all the basic things one expects with a hotel stay is not with this place. If you want maid service, that's extra, etc. Its thime for some updating & may be consider what guests expect when paying $200+ per night?

    • We Visit Every Year!

      Reviewed 01 April 2019

We love the Pelican Post & we visit every year! My mom found this place about 10 years ago & we have returned every year since. This hidden jewel is no longer hidden from our group. The owners run the day to day business and run it right! They care about their guest and will accommodate them in any way they can. Marie & Nicole always make a point to say hello to us in the morning and ask us about our day and if there is anything they can do. There is a group of 10 of us that return every March & they anticipate our every need. They thought of everything you could want on vacation but couldn't fit in your suitcase; bicycles, water floats, towels, beach toys and even beach chairs. If you enjoy a small, family run, cozy, friendly location, that is just steps from the beach, then this is the place for you! Oh & did I mention that their neighbors are green parrots!

    • Lovely quiet and character hotel, very Key West!

      Reviewed 12 February 2019

We loved this cute little hotel, its by no means luxurious but it had a lovely feel about it, very retro and historical with some nice seating areas outside. It is so near the beach, the action and the free shuttle, that you wont really use your car much at all. The beach is lovely, with pure white sand. The bars are fun, with live music in most. Plenty of places to eat all along this coastline. The bed was really comfortable and everything very clean. The family running the place are great, and have plans to refurbish room by room. We actually liked the gas cooker and putting the kettle on, just as in the old days. I hope they keep that feature, as I love the whistle of the kettle. As with most hotels, there is no milk in the fridge or tea bags, its a shame they dont add this, as it makes for a much better experience. there are no "corner shops" or small convenience stores we could find to get some, wherever we stayed in florida. You have to go out in your car and find a supermarket, usually many miles away. We loved the atmosphere of Bradenton beach, its small but has a happy feel about the area. We would recommend this hotel to anybody who enjoys character and peace.

    • Cozy, Comfy and Easy Walk to Restaurants and Shops

      Reviewed 06 February 2019

We love staying here as you can park your car, drop off your bags and walk to your favorite places. It has everything you need and although it isn't a plush hotel, it's very clean, neat, well maintained and absolutely perfect for a beach stay. We stayed in Suite #2 which had a comfortable king bed, separate room with two beds, small but complete kitchen area with dining table and four chairs, nice TV and WiFi, your own parking spot and a nice front deck with outdoor furniture. The main room had four large windows that let in lots of light and gave the room an expansive feel. We were thrilled with this suite!

    • Love this place

If you are looking for a 5 star-type hotel with all the amenities, then you really don't want to stay here. But if you want the old-Florida beach experience, then this is your place. I have stayed here 2 years in a row and love it, even with its little quirks. The rooms are clean, and the management couldn't be nicer. The beach is just a couple of blocks away, as is one of the best places to eat. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
