We booked a few nights in this accommodation which is located on top of a small hill on Itambira Island and decided to go for the rooms with shared bathroom. The rooms were a bit small but clean, the facilities could need a little love but are ok for the price. Warm water was available. The food was very nice and one of the best places to be is the large terrace with the bar from which you have a beautiful view on the lake and you can spend the time watching birds in the nearby trees and shrubs. The staff was very friendly and helpful, organized a transfer to Kabale for us, offered tours and joined us for a round of Ludo and playing cards :D Thanks for the nice and relaxing stay!

Paradise Eco-hub is a great place to stay at Lake Bunyonyi. Silas, who hosted us there, was absolutely phenomenal. He was extremely helpful with everything we needed, and made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend.

The boat ride to this place is beautiful. On arrival, the staff were very helpful in carrying all our luggage (of 10 people). The pool docks are beautiful and we really enjoyed our beers down here at sunset. It's so peaceful with only the sounds of birds surrounding the area. The wifi is limited but that wasn't a problem for us and it was nice to switch off. The crayfish curry was incredible and I highly recommend this or other local produce over ordering anything Western. The staff were so friendly and booked us for a tour around the islands and small hike for roughly $20. The views were incredible and our guide was very informative. Couldn't recommend this place enough - so peaceful and enjoyable

We had a wonderful time at Paradise Eco Hub. Great staff and friendly service. We stayed in one of their nests that opened out to Lake Bunyonyi. We woke to the sounds of birds and children heading to school by water taxi. We ventured on a canoe trip and a cultural tour that included a local lunch in a nearby village, all arranged by Eco Hub. We could not have been happier.

    • Unbelievable serenity, beauty and hospitality

If youre looking for a place to bask in Mother Nature, overlooking a gorgeous lake and slow down for a few days, this is your place. Its on a small island, so you have to take a small boat to get there (easily arranged with staff) but that is part of the charm. Though there is a wide range of accommodations, we opted to stay in a so-called nest, which is a thatched hut built on a large, private deck, opening out to the view of the lake. There is no door, it is completely open to nature. The beds have mosquito netting over them, and there arent many mosquitoes here anyway, unlike elsewhere in Uganda. We went to sleep every night listening to the frogs and the birds. The food is locally sourced, nutritious and delicious. Make sure to try the local crawfish, which they catch off their own dock its a local specialty. Piping hot, fresh brewed coffee is waiting for you every morning, plus super sweet, freshly cut fruit, eggs of your choice AND really delicious pancakes. Its a LOT to eat, but we didnt say no! But the BEST part of Eco Hub, of course, are the people. A local family pooled their funds and both bought the land and built it from scratch two years ago and created a non-profit foundation with the intent of empowering and training locals to work in the hospitality and tourism business and learning the business from the ground up here. So this is a really special place, for so many reasons. Be sure to sign up for a couple of tours: theres a local history tour, conducted in a canoe and you row around gorgeous little islands, and a hiking tour, that takes you to a magnificent view of the islands, and includes a typical Buniyonyi meal (delicious) and a fascinating meeting with a local traditional healer/herbalist. By the time I left, I felt like Id had both a rejuvenating rest (which was sorely needed) as well as an in-depth immersive cultural experience. And as I went to sleep in my nest at night, listening to the frogs and birds, I had a lingering thought: life is good...really good.
