    • A perfect hotel for budget travelers

      Reviewed 28 August 2019

As Phi Phi Island is famous for its parties, you wont be able to sleep if you are stayin at a hotel that is right in the center of the island. Papaya Phi Phi Resort is faselt reached at a walking distance and still far enough away to escape the loud music and drunk teenagers. As it is build up a hill, you have to keep in mind to climb up a few stairs to get to your room. They provide water in the Room, and you have a little balcony as well. We had a great view to both beaches of the island. The room is neat and tidy, just in the last day we had a big spider .... could have happened in any hotel. Watch out for the monkeys! Theyll give you a visit every morning to steal you some food. Definitely recommended!

A 3 star short stay hotel with a fantastic view located 10 mins away from the centre and main beach. There are steps but that is how you get the view - if you want a party hotel on the beach look elsewhere. In relation to the other accomadation in the same price braket it is really reasonably priced. Great staff with free pick up fromt the pier. Breakfast healthy and delivered to room at time of our choice. Take the breakfast and enjoy the sunrise from the balcony. It is a place to stay for 2/3 days or longer for those doing dive courses etc. Good stay. Thanks

Do not waste your money! Firstly the hotel is FAR from everything it defiantly is not in the centre. You have to prepare for the hike every single time you want to leave and enter your room where you are left dripping in sweat. ( the room we had was Litterally 30 steps below the phi phi view point, that is how high up the rooms are )!! Also - the noise! The walls are paper thin and you can literally hear your neighbours word for word. We was up until 3:30am with ours screaming and banging doors. The pipes in the bathroom constantly stink the room of urine!!!!! It is disgusting. The shower doesnt work and you have to hold it to get the water to go on your body. Also the rooms dont get cleaned for days at a time. I dont like leaving bad reviews, especially if it isnt that bad but this hotel is awful!

    • Cheap room, good value

Stayed for one night, last minute booking cost about 20 for double room with breakfast. Pros: very friendly staff, amazing views from balcony (we were on top row of rooms), tasty breakfast delivered to your room, cheap, away from the central region enough so its not too loud, close enough to get to the main strip in 5-10 mins. Cons: up a long flight of stairs (tough when coming back after few drinks), bed not very comfy, shower quite weak and hot water didnt work (not a major issue as weather was obviously very warm). Overall, we were very pleased with what we paid for it. Some parts could have been nicer and newer but we got a decent price compared to other hotel rooms so wont complain.

I stayed in low season and the room rates were really cheap. One of the best places in and around town. Not a beach resort. It is on a hill near town with great views. I was doing tours and diving and for that it was perfect. Close to nightlife. If you stay on the beach near town its very noisy with the nightlife. If you stay on a more quiet beach you need to get a long tail boat into the activity. So I would recommend spliting your time. Couple of days here and then to a quieter beach. Great service. The island is really chilled out in low season however the weather is variable. Loved sitting out on the balcony at sunset.
