Johannesburg was our last stop before heading home after a great safari through Botswana and Zimbabwe and it was the perfect way to end a wonderful trip. Rob and Alison, along with all the staff on the property, are warm and welcoming hosts who will make you feel at home. Alison is an amazing cook so you will enjoy amazing meals while staying at the house. The property is located in a quiet area that allows you to relax and enjoy the beauty of South Africa.

The room & facilities were amazing. Spotless rooms cleaned daily & very friendly staff. I had to go off on a days course & that stranded hub so Alison ensured that he had lunch sorted. There is an honesty bar & 2 nice lounge areas. Book heaven for bookophiles like me, loads in the library to pluck through. Food couldn't be faulted and lots of it. Alison is the chef and the plates are filled with excellent looking food, taste bud tingles and tummy fillers. 3 in one is rare to find. l spent a lot of time in the early evening before dinner & before we went out in the day in the veg garden raiding plums and gooseberries. The gardens both floral and veg are lovely to wander around and the dogs keep good company. One of the dogs is blind hence the rope around the pool so she doesn't fall in. Just climb over it to use the pool. There is also a duck pond which l mooched round several times. And a fern surrounded pond with large Koi near the dinning area. A very good place to stay to explore the area, Cradle of Mankind, Vortrekker monument etc.

Very quiet and relaxing, the room I stayed in didnt have AC, could get a bit hot in summer months. The lapa area is very relaxing. The place is run by the owners so any concerns can very quickly be resolved.

    • Worst experience ever !

Had a confirmed booking for 4 rooms a month before the time, then 2 days before our arrival date, sent an email to check that all is in order and confirm arrival time, a reply to this email said sorry due to "to unforeseen family related circumstances. " they can no longer give us the rooms !! had to scramble to get new accommodation due to this most unprofessional guest house. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE
