Disappointed in this hotel which I chose because of user reviews. Location of reception is at floor 9, and the bar/ lounge/ breakfast area is on the same level and which has great views from the windows. Reception staff were very nice and informative, but the hotel was not to our taste, it was a bit plastic. Room was small for the price paid. I did not like the smell of the honey toiletries. The bed linen was made from natural fibre which itched my skin so I had a poor sleep. Luckily I took my own pillow. Nespresso machine on the room but it was hidden away in a storage unit on the wall. Free bottle of water. Free safe. You get a free wine or beer in the evening and there are a variety of snacks put out. Salad, meats, cheeses, bread so this is useful if you dont want to eat out. Soft drinks are available in the fridge plus there is tea and coffee. Coffee is not good if u like good coffee. Breakfast was poor.

The hotel is a short walk from the old town. The parking is under the hotel for a fee. Its all inclusive so breakfast and light repast are included. No eggs or cooked food for breakfast but nice bread, oj etc. the coffee is ok. The rooms are very cozy but not very comfortable. The bathroom is curved out (great shower) so it takes up lots of unnecessary space. The bed is comfortable. There is water provided in the room. The gym is basically nothing with baby weights. The people who work there are all friendly.

Stayed for four nights during the Bayonne festival. I'd definitely recommend if staying in Bayonne. Clean, modern and well located. Breakfast is excellent. The Okko club, where you can help yourself to a soft drink, coffee etc. 24 hours a day is an excellent idea, as is the aperitif and glass of wine every evening.

We stayed for 5 nights at the Okko hotel in July. The hotel was excellent and the staff were really helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I found the breakfast adequate and I lije the idea that you can also help yourself to snacks and drinks during the day and night. The tapas in the evening was nice and there was plenty of cheese and local meat to eat, plus a free drink wine, beer etc. They also offered plenty of gluten free options , which was great. Some people have commented on the parking, but we did not find this a problem. We parked for free in a car park, by the river. The car was fine and it was only a short walk to the hotel 100m. You can park outside the hotel to unload your luggage if you prefer and then move your car to the car park. The hotel was convenient for walking into Bayonne (10 mins) for restaurants and shops. It is also near the bus stops for the Biarritz bus. As the hotel is near the bridge it was handy for beaches on the other side of the river. Not many people stayed more than a couple of nights, but we stayed for 5 nights and as there is a lot to see in the area that was fine. All in all I woukd certainly recommend this Hotel.

We had a late train and missed our connection to Spain so needed an emergency night in Bayonne. Okko came recommended and it lived up to expectations. Good things: 1. 20min flat walk from the train station. Out of town a little, but no big deal to walk back in and look around. 2. Snacks and a glass of wine included in the evening. The snacks are bread, cheese, cold meats and salad. If you dont want a large meal, then this can easily be dinner. There are free soft drinks, tea, coffee etc as well. And its in a nice setting in a lounge overlooking the river. You can buy extra wine/beer if you want at a reasonable price. 3. Breakfast also included. Oats, fruit, eggs, bread, pastries, cheese, jam etc. tea and coffee. 4. Friendly staff at reception and in the lounge. 5. standard room is small but functional. (17m2). The bathroom is a funky glass/louvre arrangement. In theory you can see into it from the room (I had high expectations of being able to ogle my husband after a previous reviewer said that although shed been married 25 years, she didnt wish to see or hear her hubby on the loo and thought the design was disgusting)....but in fact the design is very tasteful and despite my best efforts I couldnt see anything below his shoulders. The door closes and is reasonably sound proof, so unless you are sharing with someone who has bowel problems, I doubt there will be noise contamination any more than sharing any other hotel room. 6. You can easily access and use the stairs to get between your room, the lounge and the street. 7. The free snacks/wine ends at 9pm but you can hang out in the lounge late and drink tea/coffee/sparkling water for as long as you want. They also had some soft drinks, yogurt, banana bread and biscuits for late night munchies. Things to be aware of: 1. The reception is on the 9th floor and while there are two lifts they are interminably slow. Id recommend using them on arrival and exit with your luggage, but using the stairs the rest of the time. Even walking up 9 floors was quicker. (And excellent exercise). 2. The standard room is v small...if there are two of you and you are larger than average or have lots of luggage, get a premium room. (25m2) 3. The coffee is pretty dire (if you are from the UK, youll probably be fine....it is at least freshly ground beans in a push button machine). We are from Wellington, NZ and have unrealistically high expectations :) Tea was good. (Good range, nice teapots). 4. Theres no fridge in the room, but there is a Nespresso machine and some free bottled water (and you can refill your own bottles with tap water or upstairs in the lounge with cold water). Id definitely stay here again or with other Okko hotels (never heard of them before this stay). Pleasantly surprised.
