      This restaurant is spot on! The service is lovely all the staff are very friendly. The location is right on the sea front, they have entertainment, lovely chilled out music. The food! The food was amazing, steak cooked to perfection, the cocktails are strong and tasty. 100% we will be coming back here whilst we stay in Cape Verde

      We had a great dinner with a spectacular view on the sea, beach, piers. The fish fishes were excellent, pricing ranging 10-15 Euro for main courses. The service is pleasant, much better than in most hotels.

      The hotel is probably one of the nicest places to stay in Sal island. The location is excellent, right on the beach but also right downtown Santa Maria where there is a great variety of dining options and generally enjoyable to stroll around. However, for the price paid, there are definitely some points that need improvement. As a family of four we booked a suite. We stayed in the newer wing of the hotel and the rooms were well designed and well appointed. We were first put into a street-facing room on the first floor where there was considerable noise and an unpleasant view. The hotel then agreed to move us to a sea facing room paying only a very reasonable supplement. We probably ended up in one of the hotel's best rooms on the top floor with a great view over the Santa Maria beach. The food at the restaurant was excellent and the restaurant itself full of character. Now for the improvement points. The service at the hotel is not up to standard for a hotel in this category. It was rarely delivered with a smile and often very small things were made very complicated. On some occasions the staff started to argue even though they were obviously wrong and had to admit that later. Service in the restaurant and pool bar was usually fine but sometimes painfully slow. In general the service was off-hand and uninterested (A notable exception are some of the waiters at the restaurant who were great) Service delivery training would be a great investment for the hotel. The supplement we had to pay to bring our kids to stay (without anything being added to the room) was outrageous, the highest I have ever had to pay anywhere and completely out of proportion (The price for the same room was about 70% higher with the kids while there was no additional cost to the hotel except maybe breakfast). We had a strong feeling that we were being ripped off. There are unnecessary complications, for example the pool towels could only be exchanged once during the stay and only by holding on to some piece of paper. The housekeeping service only arrived at a set time and if we were in the room they simply did not clean it that day. There were no do not disturb/please make up room signs. The beach bar had a strange menu lacking in many of the comfort food options such a bar usually should focus on at a hotel like that. The food came from the main restaurant but it was still not possible to order from that menu at the beach bar. However, in the end the charming location and well-appointed rooms will make this hotel worth staying at for anyone visiting Sal for a few days and offers a wildly different experience from the all-inclusive resorts on the island. We will happily stay again as we are sure the hotel will be able to improve the above points.

      Wonderful pool Friendly staff We felt at home there The location is great Rooms were big enough and comfortable. You could hear the sound of the waves the whole day and night, which was quite relaxing. We were on a "sea view" room. The breakfast had some natural juices from fruit from the island which we enjoyed, such as "tamarindo" and "calabaceira". The only issue was a door that divided our room and the next. So we could hear everything that was going on next door. Fortunately our neighbors next door were quiet , so we didn't bother much. But then the next ones (who stayed for our last 2 nights) were quite loud... Overall a really nice vacation.

      Stayed here back in March, so glad I chose this hotel as we like smaller hotels not the big AI, much nicer island than Boa Vista. Was in a lovely location we could walk to bars restaurants etc & right by the beach also, room was lovely overlooking the gardens and part sea view, had a hammock on the balcony which was very relaxing, breakfast was plentiful lots of choice ( could have been a bit hotter) & was lovely listening to the waves whilst eating. Only ate in the restaurant once in the evening which was ok, had to keep calling the staff over when we wanted something which was a bit annoying as we just couldn't get their attention, prices a bit high. My only gripe was the pool situation, I know its only a small pool & not many beds but every day towels would be on the beds first thing, we checked back throughout the day the see if there were any spare but each time no, more towels on beds than people, with it only been small I think something needs to be done about this as people are so selfish, the towels need to be removed or maybe a system put in place so it makes it fair for everyone to get a bed a some point even if only a few hours at a time. They now have an infinity pool on the beach which is lovely but you pay for the beds by there . Just a tip for anyone taking gin over with them, take tonic also, we struggled to find tonic anywhere & when we did it was so expensive ! Had a bit of an issue with an item in minibar that we didn't have but got resolved in the end. I would stay here again if I was to come back to Sal
