The staff at Ocean Maya Royale were excellent. Especially the Privilege Mario, Berenice and Azussena. The buffet was good for breakfast & lunch with the best waitress Demaris and waiter Fernando and great job by head waiter Rafael. Also the best head chef Fabian Chavez. The entertainment group always with a smile and lots of activities going on especially Arturo, Naomi and Inez. A very special thanks to Margarita in water sports for helping us book an amazing Catamaran to Isla Mujeres. it was a fantastic trip. Also Alberto who took us to our room with our luggage and picked us up on our departure. The pool bar excellent bartenders Eber and Manuel. All the restaurants were all good.

    • 2nd visit...much better weather

When we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and a cold, refreshing drink. Check-in was painless and we were taken to our room on a golf-style buggy. Unfortunately the room allocated was a bit close to the 'noisy' pool for our liking. A quick chat with reception and we were allocated an alternate room, although we did have to wait a couple of days for it to be available. The new room was 3606 - the opposite end of the resort, but wow...what a view! We ate at all the restaurants but our favourite for dinner was the Blue Moon. Special shout to David and the other waiters here as they are great! Breakfast we went to La Hacienda and Alfredo remembered us from six years ago! He's an absolute star and provided excellent service every time. The only negative feedback I could offer is the hotel needs to decide what type of guests they want to attract. The restaurants are all moving toward more high end dining, yet the daytime entertainment seems to be aimed at 18-30's. A foam party in the pool with very loud music? One last tip. Go for the Privilege upgrade We did not have the Privilege room, but could use the private section on the beach which includes waiter service for drinks and food (far more frequently than the main pool). Shout out to Carlos here who was amazing. We also had a concierge who would take restaurant requests and make the bookings for us, in advance of the standard 'on the day' reservations.

I have been at Ocean Riviera Paradise and I decided to give Maya Royale an opportunity and honestly, it was not what I expected. Service is unexistent, many few employees spoke English and we were left there talking to ourselves more than once. We learned that it really seems that faulty air conditioning and understaffing is a constant for H10. We had breakfast at La Hacienda and couldn't wait to leave as we were eating and sweating at the same time, not fun at all. The only place where aircon was working properly was at the lobby restrooms. No joke. Definitely not going back.

Where to begin!!! We had such an amazing time in September 2018 at Ocean Maya Royale that we decided to go back in September 2019. Our expectations were high, probably because it was our first time ever in an all-inclusive resort. And our expectations were exceeded both times! We wanted a clean resort, with good food and a beautiful setting. That is it. There have been improvements this year that make it even better, like the coffee place opening all-day long and the ice cream parlour next to the pool. The food is amazing everywhere. The pools are beautiful. The rooms are very clean and modern. The staff is very friendly and also gay-friendly. Special thanks to Arturo at the pool (Aqua Gym was so much fun), Mario at La Dolce Vita, Daniela at La Hacienda (bonjour!) and Eduardo at La Hacienda also. One thing to know : the beach is tiny and not the best, partly because of the seaweeds, which nobody can control. So if the beach is a must, this resort is not for you. We didnt mind at all as we prefer the pool anyway. If I had to find something negative, Id say that the lasagna at La Dolce Vita, although probably one of the best lasagnas Ive had, felt like it had been microwaved, which put me off a bit. We also missed the Yookoso, the Japanese restaurant (the only one that requires a reservation), because the sign said they took reservations from 17:50, but then we were told they were booked all night because people reserved at 17:40... Anyway, it did not hinder our stay in any way as the food selection everywhere else is amazing and you dont need any reservation. Thank you so much Ocean Maya Royale for another beautiful week, we look forward to going back!

Lots of sunshine and very hot temperatures in September. I had never heard of H10 resorts before. They did not disappoint. We chose the Privilege service for the added services. We had excellent beach side service from Victor and the other gentlemen. We did try all the restaurants. Each had their unique service and features. Do try El Charro for supper. For some reason, they had very little clientele the night we were there. The Margarita's were fabulous. Seriously though, the food was great everywhere. Mexico never ever disappoints. We were a little concerned regarding the algae problem. However, the beach was maintained on a daily basis. As a bonus, this site has many animals that roam around freely. They were a delight. My husband and I enjoyed watching the Coati try and steal food at lunch time. They are pretty clever. Very well kept grounds. Do not miss having a cappuccino at Mike's. Best part of the day! We also tried the spa. They need to advertise more to increase business. Perhaps give a free 20 minute massage? This spa uses quality products and gave excellent massages. It was worth the visit. The evening shows were short but very entertaining. We had the luxury of being present for the independence day celebration. It was fun celebrating with the employees and tasting different Mexican specialties. It was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely return to this resort.
