This is not my first time to Cancun. But its the first time to this hotel. I went there for a week with unlimited access to the Xcaret Park. The hotel was amazing. You may get lost if you didnt have a map with you because its so big. The service was exceptional and would say more than what expected. Concierge service and the room service were amazing and would do anything to help you and make you feel comfortable. Pools are great and clean. I would say its a jungle style more than a beach style but still great. Food is amazing specially the los olives restaurant. I would go back again for sure.

My wife and I have been coming here for a few years together and she has been here several times before. We are members of the Royal Club and this year we are dissatisfied with the hotel so far. The food seems to have gone down hill gradually for the past few years and this year is no different. While we have access to a private restaurant the food choices are so minimal we don't even use it. The pool at the First Club is falling apart and there are pieces of tile laying at the bottom of the pool. Everywhere you walk there seems to be a sewage smell as if they are having issues with the septic system. We usually enjoy going to the show every night after dinner but even that seems to have gone down hill. The automated sign near the main dining hall hasn't displayed the correct show time or actual show all week. One night our faucets starting spewing brown water when the hot water was on and we are going on day 4 with this issue and told there is nothing wrong. While the atmosphere, the staff, and the overall beauty of the resort are still good, as a member of the resort you would like to think that your money is going to good use to maintain the services that this hotel was once known for and we have expected over the years. Please take this review as constructive criticism and I look forward to seeing improvements during our next visit.

We have recently returned from our amazing and wonderful 11night stay at Occidental at Xcaret. We enjoyed every second. We were fortunate to be on the third floor of Block 19. We watched monkeys in the trees from our balcony and enjoyed the wild life abundant at the hotel. We had a speedy check-in and were delighted with our room. All the staff were super helpful and friendly, it would be impossible to mention all, but Lewis at El Largo, Mario at the pool, Jorge on the shuttle and our room maid who sadly we didn't get her name, the talented bar staff at Bar Hundido, Rolando at the Oriental who all contributed to make our holiday more special. Thank you to all.... The varied restaurants were a culinary delight. The food was exceptional. We tried everything and enjoyed all. The beach was safe, cool and shallow, it was possible to view lots of beautiful fish in the clear water without even goggles! However, the beach was HOT and only a limited quantity of undamaged sun chairs with no shade? Umbrellas would be appreciated? A wonderful, FANTASTIC holiday... Thank you ..

When you arrive, you are greeted with a warm smile, a friendly hand shake and a peroanl escort to your room. The rooms are modern, clean and accented with the Mayan flair. Each room has a patio (ground floor) or balcony (2/3 floors). Once you open the patio/balcony you are literally stepping into the jungle, complete with a spattering of wild birds, flowers and monkeys swinging from the tree tops. Inside the room you will find a clean spacious living area with a luxurious bed and extra fluffly pillows. Rooms include a kind size bed or two double beds, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, flat screen TV with satellite service, telephone, coffee maker, alarm clock, in-room mini bar, digital safe, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and bathroom with a shower. Total space is 342 Square feet (Deluxe level room). The bathrooms are spacious and are filled with real Italian toiletries, not those inexpensive hotel soaps that dry our your hair and skin. You can feel the luxury, withouth having the pricetag attached! It is a great value! GASTRONOMY: There are 11 restaraunts, featuring 2 buffets, 2 snack bards and 7 a la carte restaurants. My personaly favorite is the Mexican a la carte, La Hacienda. I would place this foodir experience at #2, worldwide, in my ipinion. It offered such amazing, authentic flavour! La Hacienda is dressed in Mexican theme dcor with 2 levels to the restaurant. The upper level and the lower level. The buffet area is substantial and offers an array of authentic Mexican dishes. The Fajita is among my favorites at this restaurant. But, be sure to try one of everything, you won't be disappointed! From the two available buffets, the beach buffet is stunning for a breakfast option. It is quite expansive, extremely beautiful with the sunrise colors and overlooks the bay at the resort. On a clear morning you can see Cozumel across the ocean, amongst a spattering of ships and yachts. The true entertainment at this beach front restaurant however, is the pelicans.... But I can say no more, you MUST go visit and see for yourself to truly understand! This resort is simply a breathtaking journey into an undiscovered natural paradise. All-in-all, the Occidental at Xcaret destination is undoubtedly one of th top all-inclusive resorts in the Riviera Maya and the perfect destination getaway for vacationers in search of both the tranquility of Mexico and the Caribbean sea.
